[IMG] I have never actually realized the meaning of Quick Spell slots. I know how to place a spell in one but then what? What's the point?

You can think of it two ways...the game designers wanted to make things easier for us gamers or they just wanted to fill up the toolbar ;) It's a luxury, enjoy. Put your most used spells in it, saves you click during battle but not a click overall.

JTG, the meaning that quick slots are there, it's obvious. "Quick" slots, the point is that, instead of having to open the magic slot, you simply click the quick slot. It it just there to make thing go faster.

I usually just pause during battle because it just makes life easier. I never use the quike spell slots.

    That's just how i play though. :)

well, this is my thought on the quick spell/item slots...

now, i'm replaying Baldur's Gate, yes, the first one all over again...

and well.. now you don't have the luxury of pausing the game while checking ur inventory...

meaning... the moment you click the Bag icon, the game unpauses and your party goes on attacking and receiving/dealing damage...

the quick slots are there so that you can switch items, drink potions and read scrolls without unpausing the game... it really makes more sense and makes battles more realistic...

imagine this, you see an umberhulk, "Hold on you ugly green oaf, lemme look into my bag of holding for a while so that i can wield my ever hilarious Lilarcor"

but obviously now that setting is not used anymore
