    In "Favorites" in internet explorer, this file called links keeps reapering no matter how much I delete it and the "My Music" folder keeps making a sample music folder. Could someone tell me how to get rid of this please. Thanks!

    Do you have Messenger Plus, the add-on to MSN Messenger? The same thing happened to me the day after I installed that so I suspect that is what caused the problem on my PC. I haven't yet been able to stop it happening, but i did manage to get rid of the annoying 'extra' search bar that kept popping up.

    Ah now I do yes because I did a format just a week ago. I remember a line of words you type into "run" and it gets rid of all that msn stuff on XP so I will try that see if it makes any difference.

    [​IMG] I'm not sure about the My Music folder, but the Links folder is created by Internet Explorer.

    Make sure you don't have any spyware on your system - they could be causing the problem. The worst spyware programs out there are HotBar and Gator (the most evil program ever).

    Try this. Right click on the Links folder on the drop down menu. Select "Properties" and then select "Hidden".

    It will still be there on the harddrive, but you won't have to see it ever again.
