[IMG] I'm making my way through ToEE currently, and enjoying it quite a bit.

I've noticed that the manual's spell description for the clerical spell, Restoration, indicates that it restores lost experience points that have been drained.

Does this include experience points that have been expended through the use of Create Wondrous Item or a similar such feat?

Yes! Another ToEE convert! And a moderator, no less!

Just please, please, please don't try any of the romances...

OK, your question: no, Restoration won't restore XP lost from crafting items. If it did, it would prove the ultimate exploit - and the only exploits a game should have should be heroic exploits. The XP restoration is only if your character has been level drained...but come to think of it, I can't remember that ever happening in my game. Abilities were drained lots of times (too many times!), but not levels. Maybe I didn't get far enough.

[IMG] Too bad about the exploit thing. Oh well. Thanks for the answer.

    A little :yot: but ...

I did the Meleny quest to get the Holy Sword +1 and then left her waiting. I suppose I could rationalize it as my Paladin will come back to get her after all is done. But you didn't really think ToEE would offer anybody to compete with Jaheira did you? :shake:

Still off-topic, but hey, you're the moderator...

...anyway, that Meleny romance creeped me out. I couldn't go through with it, even for the +1 Holy Longsword.

Hey, at least if you get lonely for Jaheira, you can go back and play BG2. There's no hope for my sad pining for Nalia!

But back on-topic, almost...don't be afraid to burn your XP on items. Just make sure you only craft the most powerful tools - save up for the +6 style, ignoring the +2 and +4 models. Those +6 items will really boost your other characters, allowing them to take on stronger monsters. Your XP-drained characters will earn higher XP since they're at a lower level, so they won't be left behind for long.

Also remember that you can craft weapons in stages. You can make it +1 one day and then upgrade it to +2 the next day.
