Question about magic items

    If you have a magic item with a spell power how does the game determine what level it's cast at?

    Items usually don't have spells tacked on that would improve with the caster's level. Are you asking about any specific item?

    Not sure about all items, but the way Inifnity Engine works is by having a fixed caster level on items. For scroll, I think it's set at the lowest level the caster needs to cast the spell (so, Invisibility would be cast at caster level 3, Horrid Wilting at 15, and so on). Wands usually have a fixed caster level as well, but I'm not sure how it's set. Same goes for rings, cloaks, etc that cast a spell x times per day (or have y charges for that matter).

    EDIT: My remarks apply to items found in the unmodded game. I have no idea if items in mods can work differently.

    Through one of the mods I have I came across a set of bracers that would cast, among other spells, Gedlee's Electric Loop 1/day. That's the reason I was asking.
