It say's in the BGII intro that after killing Sarevok that you leave Baldurs gate "under circumstances much darker then anyone would have belived" I was wondering what they could have been refering to? is this something that happens in TotSC? because I can't really imagine killing Sarevok and becoming a hera as "dark circumstances" or maybe it's just me.

I think it refers to the fact that while you've killed Sarevok and saved Baldur's Gate from the way he was trying to instigate, people are aware of the blood of Bhaal in your veins and wonder if you might be pretty much the same as Sarevok. It doesn't say so implicitly, but I get the impression you sneak out of Baldur's Gate just as the ungrateful lot are considering lynching you.

The reason why the circumstances were much darker, was that they put a sack over your head, thus darkening everything!

    I mean, it's SO obvious... :D

You are kidnapped by shadow thieves and taken to Amn right? When the main shadow guild there figured out what was up they attacked Irenicus's stronghold.

Maybe he forgot to pay them... :heh:

[IMG] You aren't kidnapped by the Shadow Thieves...
    It's Irenicus' lackeys.

Circumstances much darker - referring to you leaving, yes you killed Sarevok, destroying his evil plans, but you discover you are the child of a god - the god of murder, you know now why people have been after you, will you ever be safe from assassins? How many people know your heritage? Will it go away? You do not know and therfore must leave before anything worse can happen to you.

Well, I think it is partially because the main character knows that there are more yet to come for him. And I think, as a person from CandleKeep, he is bound to come across the Prophecies of Alaundo and thus, knowing more of the coming darkness that will engulf the Sword Coast and beyond.

Thus, he was greatly upset and unhappy...either that or he lost ability to control his bowels... :p
