I'm wondering what order people usually do their quests. I find that no matter what character class I'm playing, I tend to do the first few quests in the same order. I always do the Copper Coronet first (as I assume the majority of people do). After that I'm off to Trademeet, as that, IMO is probably the easiest of the quests. There's tons of XP's, and up to three rep points to earn with the quests. The only fight that's even remotely challenging is with Itafeer, because usually you don't have very many weapons that will hit her. What about you? Do you change order based on what class you're playing?

After the circus tent and the Copper Corronet, I usually go to the D'arnise Hold first and after that the Umar Hills and then go to Trademeet with Mazzy...

Lastly, I wanted to save Imonen the sooner I could. I didn't do circus or CC. Only DeArnise for the +3 weapons, and Guild of Thieves for Edwin and the money. Ain't it roleplaying?
The underdark wasn't so hard. But when it came back, my party was very powerful, with a lot of nice (cheesy) objects, and could do every quest easily.
With that, they could take on Kangaxx and the Twisted Rune without trouble, acquiring still cheesier items. Ain't it powergaming?
(the party is rather "powergaming", with an inquisitor PC & Korgan).

I don't like to back track, so I usually do mine in the order of difficulty. I start off doing every possible quest within Athkatla - Circus Tent, Skinner Quest, Slavers, Thieves Guild, Tarnor Hatchetman & Co, Planar Prison, Unseeing Eye - in that order, along with all the little in-between quests as I go (like the Wellyn & Littleman quest, etc). Then I venture out to the outlying areas, also going in order of difficulty (Trademeet, D'arnise, Umar Hills, Windspear Hills). I do Umar Hills a little later on than the others so I don't have to come back for the Black Dragon later on. I only hold off on Firkraag if I'm trying to do the Paladin stronghold quest. But otherwise I just rest (and save!) and go after him.

I try to do as much as possible before going to the underdark, generally. And I keep spending my money on expensive items like the Robe of Vecna and the Shield of Balduran to justify the delay. I just can't seem to keep my spending under control! ;)

I don't really have a set method. I just kind of go solve whatever quest my character feels like solving at the moment - of course, this often depends upon the party makeup.

But usually the Tent and the Hold are first, then off through the city to make some money (and experience) for my traverse through the Underdark, which comes at the last possible moment!

Barring a need for Imoen in the party, I generally now do all of the quests possible before heading to Spellhold. Circus tent is always first, then it depends. CC is early, but not always second. Sometimes, I will wander the city, loading up on all of the available quests and solving what I can. I often deal with the first stage of the Skinner Murder quest, complete the buried alive quest (and the various other mini-quests in the graveyard, like the paladin, the crypt king with that decent sword, the spider woman -- Pai Na I think -- for the figurine, which I upgrade as soon as possible with the Item Upgrade mod, Wellyn, etc.), pick up the Sarles quest so I can take out Neb, start the Unseeing Eye quest, etc.

My general MO, however, is to complete the city quests first unless I am going to take the D'Arnise Keep as a stronghold. In that case, I go out there right after the circus and maybe the CC (Liliacor helps Minsc out in the keep fights, especially the Iron Golem) to start the clock ticking on the various stronghold quests.

I often do the circus tent to get Aerie, and I'll wander the streets of Athkatla starting several quests but not finishing them until I get sufficient gear -- role playing, in my mind, in that a smart adventurer would poke around an unfamiliar area and get a feel for it (not to mention getting some gear) before tackling serious problems. I like to finish as much as possible in Athkatla before heading out to D'Arnise, Trademeet, Windspear, etc. I like to have all that jazz finished before heading to the asylum.

My first quest out of Irenicus' dungeon was the Circus Tent.

    2nd: Copper Coronet
    3rd: Nalia's keep
    4th: Trademeet
5th: Windspear Hills (but I didn't persue killing Firkraag, as I felt I was too low level at that moment)

I don't really do them in any particular order, other than the Circus Tent first. I will usually do D'Arnise Hold, Copper Coronet, Thief's Guild and Trademeet early, but not necessarily in any set order.

I always do the circus quest first, next go for Viconia and Jan, then for shadow thief to get Edwin. After that, the unseeing eye quest for Keldorn. The rest of the quests may not be in order.

Like most people, I do the circus first, usually in Chapter 1. Next comes copper coronet, slavers quest and Lilacor.

If I want a stronghold, then I try to initiate it as soon as possible. Sometimes it's not possible though.

Next I do the Graveyard quests - the caretaker, Wellyn the Ghost, Tirdir buried alive. None require much fighting, especially if you skip looting the crypts, which is what I usually do.

The poisoned man usually comes around now, and that makes me complete the Montaron quest too.

In general I try to complete all the quests in each section of Athkatla first before starting a new area. Travelling abroad usually comes last, and may even be postponed till chapter 6.
