    I don't think I've seen two posts in all this time here about someone playing a pure Kensai.
    As if it doesn't exist. Like Kensai/Mage and Half-Orc Barbarian would be classes in themselves with no other alternatives.

    Half-Orc Fighter... You played a what?
    See what I mean. *grin*

    Oh and people, PLEASE refrain from too much use of RP and PG in this post. As you can see, I tried my best not to bring it up, but this topic seems like it's about to start an avalanche. :)

    Well I almost finished the game with pure kensai, but it was impossible in chap 7, always died for the lack of armor and resistance.

    i finished the game whit a pure lawful good lvl.19 elven Kensai, I had no problems with high AC, I just let Jaheira cast Barkskin on me, The guy was a god beating the Black dragon in Hell toe to toe by himself. he duelwielded Crom feyr and the Equalizer, I used Cloak of mirrirs, boots of speed, ring of Gaxx, one of those head stones and other unimportant magical items.

    I never tried playing a pure kensai-fighter, but I think that he must be an awesome fighter in the end, due to his very low THACO - every hit is critical or something like that. However, I´m a coward. I need to dress up in steel to overwhelm my fear.

    I'm going through as pure elven kensai right now, and having no problems. Sure, I get hit more often than my mage, but I got the Cloak of the Sewers, and all my clerics memorize almost only healing spells, so I'm generally ok. Haven't had to reload yet.

    No offence but:

    HOW IN BLAZES IS IT BLOODY HELL POSSIBLE TO KILL A BLACK DRAGON IN HELL WITH A PURE KENSAI??!?

    Sure barkskin, but that can't protect you from a black dragon!!!
    Please explain, it was impossible for me, but i still have a save...

    On the topic of kensais, does anyone know if high wisdom is important for them?
    The kit description on Sorcerer's Pages mentions an increase in learning ability via more experience if the WIS is higher than 15, but since I haven's anything about this in BG2 kit descriptions I wonder if it was implemented at all...

    Hmm...
    Pure Kensai Solo?
    ... well, with a Sorcerer, I used MS-III 2x before engaging him as well as putting on Stoneskin and other protections. I sent in the goons as fodder, and blasted him with some Lower Resistances. Then you can either do the nasty Finger, or pound him with a half-a-dozen Magic Missiles. Summon more fodder as needed.

    To Shapes: Just toe to toe with healing potions without any problems, it's easy.
    To Blackthorne: I loaded the game and led the dragom flee so I stayed LG

    Heh, well...first time post here...and I haven't finished the game yet but I didn't really know much about classes and picked a Human Kensai just for the hell of it...he works well so far.
    Haven't gotten to Hell yet so I dunno what is up there...but I killed Firkraag, The Shadow Dragon and Adalon with him.
    I also use that weird amulet of protection which casts armour on you...so he can have like..-5 ac if he's using Dakkon's Zerth Blade and some other stuff.

    I dunno, I think Kensai are asskickers :)

    Haha! I beat the game using a pure kensai class...a human too...

    I don't understand what the problem is...I killed the dragon, I killed Irenicus...I killed everything!

    Someone wanna tell me what the problem with a pure kensai is?

    Probably it´s just because it´s the kansais high AC. His THACO is formidable and equipped with a good weapon and weapon style specialisation he´s even better.

    However, there are so many nice spells like stoneskin, protection from missiles etc that help overcome this.

    And my kensai/mage can get an AC of -25, which would pretty much be the best AC for any of my characters :)
