Problems with my goblin slayer dagger

    My goblin slaying dagger is not always working. In Targos and in the wilds around the bridge and fortress it killed all goblins, half goblins, hordlings, and goblin sorcerers and witch doctors with one hit! However, once I got through the warrens and into the Fortress there were several goblin sorcerers. If I killed one with the knife and then went to attack another one, the knife would not instantly kill it. It would just hit for normal damage and I had to kill the darn thing the old fashion way… Goblins still are not that hard to kill in HoF, compared to other enemies, but it kind of ticked me off.

    However, the goblin slayer is still a great buy if you want to play HoF. The construct slayer axe is also a great buy, it makes those pesky golems in the ice temple fall with one strike.

    Note, this is obvious but the only way I could afford to buy them, since they are really expensive, was that I had several of those greatswords of the soulless +5 from the slayer knights of Xvim in the Severed Hand. When you beat the game, it exports your characters and all their items (duh). You can sell these swords for 50,000 gold in Targos which gives you enough cash to buy the goblin dagger, the construct axe, and the 12 paces spear. The Heart of <CharName> sword is like 150,000 gold or something like that in HoF mode, so save those items from the Severed Hand (and make sure they are not in your bag of holding before you go to fight Isair and Madae). There is a lot of +4 or +5 stuff from the Hand that you can sell in Targos so that you can purchase some of the beefed up items to make HoF mode a bit easier. Happy Hunting!!!
