Problem with lockpicking

    My rogue (level 13) suddenly can't unlock any chests -- on the prisoner's level or any other level, for that matter. (Bashing isn't working either.) We haven't made any weapon or protection changes -- just all of a sudden he's seemed to have lost his skill. Any thoughts?

    Well, most of the doors in Dragon's Eye are of the "plot device to open only" nature. Honestly, I can't think of anything you can pick on the first three levels except those 'timed doors' on the third level.

    What chests are there that are locked?

    What level of skill do you have in Open locks? My rogue easily picked the locks on the three chests in the 'armory' by the wyverns. So easily, I forgot they were even locked. A couple of the traps were iffy, but not the locks. My rogue had about a 13 skill and 22 dex at that time.

    He's a level 13 with 21 dex and ambidexterous as well. I don't understand this. Extremist thought it was a bug in IWD2 -- where thieving skills just disappear. He's had no trouble until now.... just all of a sudden, he can't unlock ANYTHING. Crap!

    Have you tried removing the armour? I know that the armour has some effect.

    Yeah... but should that have an affect when it's been the same armor we've had since early on? I'll try it...or anything at this point. :heh:

    I had the same problem and ended up using the potion of Master Thievery you can find on the 2nd level to open all the chests on the 1st and 2nd levels.

    Yeah....just picked up that bottle :D ... heading back to check out those chests. Does the skill problem correct itself later in the game?
