[IMG] Ok, I am trying to level up my druid. She is level 8 going to 9. Problem is, in the skills screen, I have more points to allocate than I can. I know that if I have one point left it can go to the next screen, but I end up with four or five. So I can't do anything.
I had the same problem with my rogue. The only way I was able to solve it was by selecting a wizard class instead of the rogue when I leveled up. Not that big of a deal since I wanted to do that anyways. But I don't want to with the Druid, I want to keep her a straight Druid.
Anyone had this problem? Any solutions? My game is patched too.

What you describe is not possible. Have you added skill points via DaleKeeper?

[IMG] Hmm, I haven't had that with my druid. Your left with skill points? You can keep them and use them when you level up again

Elios has made another post where he says that wearing a +10 AC armor actually causes him to *lose* AC! At that point I suspected he was giving his character 30+ DEX. Now I'm certain he's giving his character 30+ INT to get all those skill points.

So, Elios, buzz off! Come back when you need help with a normal character.
Or post the full stats of your characters here! ;)

There have already been topics about this. I think. So do a search.

    ok, you wanted the stats:
    Paladin
    Str-17 Dex-12 Con-12 Int-14 Wis-12 Cha-19
    Wizard
    Str-11 Dex-12 Con-12 Int-19 Wis-12 Cha-19
Fighter/Rogue (thinking of adding a wizard class)
    Str-18 Dex-13 Con-12 Int-14 Wis-10 Cha-11
    Ranger
    Str-18 Dex-11 Con-11 Int-16 Wis-16 Cha-10
    Monk
    Str-18 Dex-12 Con-11 Int-13 Wis-17 Cha-15
    Druid
    Str-11 Dex-12 Con-11 Int-18 Wis-18 Cha-15
All the characters are level 8 and 9. I got all the stat without cheating or using an editor. I got them by either reassigning scores in the character creation screen, or by adding scores when you are allowed to when you level up. I have used the console and editor on other parties but not this one. I wouldn't waste everyone's time with a question about a game in which I used an editor or cheated because in most cases that is probably the reason something didn't work and I don't appreciate it being suggested that I did.
And in the post on the AC question, you'll notice someone else had the same problem, they just used a lighter armor.

OK, I apologize if I unjustly accused you of cheating :)

So how many points are your druid and rogue getting that they can't spend them at all?
I assume if they can't spend them, that they have already maxed out all their class skills (requiring 1 point) and all their cross-class skills (requiring 2 points)? That's the only way you can say: I can't spend my points.

Well I've actually reinstalled the game and reinstalled the patch. One of my golden rules of computing: if all else fails, uninstall and reinstall the dang thing. I saved my game to a disk and moved it back. Now it worked with no problem. I was getting 21 points on that level up for my druid. I'm not an expert on 3rd ed rules, but it seemed pretty high, plus all my other characters were getting considerably less points. Since I reinstalled I only got 12.
Like I said, I did use the editor and console on other parties, maybe it screwed something up?

Well, if I'm not mistaken, even 12 points is way too much for every level up. If I'm not mistaken, he should be getting around 7 points (for a human with 18 INT - I just created one to check this). Every INT bonus point gives 1 extra skill point. It seems Human Druids get 3 points min in IWD2. +4 for the INT bonus, equals 7.
A human druid with INT of 28 will get 12 points. So I think your game is still screwed up, and "internally", your druid must have an INT of 28. ;)

You can refer to this page for 3E rules.

Elios, I've had the same problem.

A rogue with 33 or 34 INT will have too many skill points to move on to the next screen.

So, I usually keep it at 30 or 31. Every other class is ok with 34 or 35 INT.

EJ, did you use an editor to get those INT levels? Just curious.
Since I was reinstalled everything, I was able to level up, but you're right about still too many skills points. Every other character was getting around 6-7. It kinda annoys me given that I want to play a completely pure game. Maybe somewhere down the road I loaded this game in the editor too.
I've been playing and haven't had any problems with leveling up anymore. I've gone another level with my druid, she still got around 12 points. Maybe I'll just delete everything and start from scratch

My guess would be that ejsmith happened to write 33 instead of 23 and so on. Replace 2 with 3 and that post makes sense. :)
    Correct ej?
