Is there any spell which protects you from getting your hitpoints sucked out?

I am currently in the Severed Hand and am getting slaughtered by the Slayer Knights of Xvim. As if having stats of 20-16-18-10-18-18, 126 HP, 3 attacks/round and *** in Greatswords weren't enough they also have to carry around the 'Greatsword of the Soulless +5'.
This is from the item description:

    Damage: 2d6 + 5
    Attack Bonus: +5
    Enchantment: +5
    Damage Type: Slashing
    Special:
Vampiric: 2d4 hit points drained from target and temporarily added to wielder (Fortitude save for none)
    Weight: 12 lb.
Feat Requirement: Martial Weapon, Great Sword
    Type: Two-handed

My tank has enough AC to be generally safe from the slashing damage, but having 2d4 HP removed all the time hurts.

    :help:

Buff, smash harder, and pray you make it through this time; that is the best all-around advice for IWD2. :D

    I presume you mean HP?
Or does this vampiric ability works even if the enemy misses? That'd be way strange.

I suggest you use the Force. If it doesnt work, then try the Schwartz.

Does that cheesy trick I once discovered in BG1 still work? Cast Larocs Minor drain on a partymember or yourself to increase your HP?

Accidentaly found out in BG1 when I wanted to kill Xar

Its not regaining HP that Im worried about. Its not loosing them that Im asking about.
Its no fun to have your Tank being slaughtered. Obviously that leads to the monsters turning over to my less well protected guys.

As far as regaining HP is concerned my cleric has enough spells to shift-click, more potions lie in my bags than I care for, everyone wears regenerating items and I just found "Death's Bane".

The point is moot now. I got my Tank to 44AC with items and he doesnt get hit. Simply doesnt get hit at all.
