[IMG] I did a search for this here and found nothing on the subject so here goes....

These shields add extra hitpoints. Plus 10 for the small shield, and plus 15 for the larger version. That works fine in my game. But whenever I load any saved game, the character sportin' one of the shields looses the hitpoint bonus off his/her current HP, but their max HP don't decrease. It's not really a huge deal, cure light wounds or regeneration are a quick fix.

I do understand that if I switch weapon combo's that will happen. But I've tested this issue several times, making sure to keep those shields equiped before re-loading a game. I get the same results I mentioned above each time. I thought maybe the patch would help, but no go there. I've been through the game twice, patched and unpatched and I run into the same problem.

Just curious if anybody else ran into this, or if I'm missing something. Hopefuly someone can explain this.

Yes, this bug is there, for a long time already i might add. It has been in IWD1. It seems that save files do not record down hp limit. So everytime you equip something that gives extra hp and load the game, you get some hp less then you suppose to. However this doesn't tilt the game unbalance. It might be annoying but not serious, so the programmers are, perhaps, lazy to correct this?

Ahh I see. Yeah more of a pain is the ass than a major bug. I was just curious. Thanks.

I never encounterd that problem in IWD1. Although the only item from IWD1 I can re-call off hand that adds HP is the wolf-talisman you get in Kresslock's tomb. It added 10 HP IIRC and I never ran into this bug with that specific item. It's been a while since I've played IWD1 so I could be wrong. Anyway, thanks for the speedy reply.

Yep, problem encountered here too, and complained very vigourously on the Interplay forum. It's a big pain, especially if you're also carrying that mace that increases max HP too.
