[IMG] I have both the Archives and Archives II CDs for a PC. I have 6 characters in PoR that I want to transfer to Curse of the Azure Bonds (CAB). When I used my old floppies, there was a way to transfer the PoR characters to CAB. There is a CopyCurs on the CD version, but in never works. Help!

Yay! Someone else is actually playing the old games still.

It might be a directory finding problem, I'm totally not sure though. 3.5 inch disks worked for me too.

This doesn't really help your problem but... from my experience, Curse of the Azure Bonds was HARD. You'll get stuck with any "normal" party because combat was very difficult. I had to start a new, specialized party to tackle this game.

    [EDIT] Whoo... post #1111 [/EDIT]

    My husband suggests:

After you've beaten "the Boss" and won the game, go to a training area and remove everyone from your party.

Now in DOS or Windows, copy the character files you now have [your character names will be the file names] from the save directory in POOLRAD to the save directory in CAB. Now, you can add them to your party when playing CAB.

    I think. :)

He's searching the web; I've given him a mission! He played these games also which is why I thought he might have some help for you.

Gateway to the Savage Frontier and its sequel Treasures of the Savage Frontier were nice enough to take care of this for you when you installed TREASURE - you can add characters from either directory in-game with Treasures.

edit: ooh, lynx eye! sweet memories of Phlydia!

Yeah, that sounds like it will work. Put the character files into the right directory and the game should be able to find them.

I remember when our diskette drives changed letter names. I just edited some important looking config file and made CAB search the right directory for the save games and character files.

A bit offtopic but still, can those games still be found anywhere? And if they can, how and where can I find them? Thanks in advance.

Any decent abandonware site will have them.
