[IMG] As a mage, one can obtain a level 4 spell called Polymorph, which allows you to change into either a Pixie, Troll, Spider, etc.

My question is: Once polymorphed, do you acquire the skills of what you polymorph into?

For example: A Pixie can untrap items, so if you poly into a Pixie, can you now untrap items as well?

    Thank you,

The spell description in NWN is pretty short, but it should be the same as the P&P version of the spell. When you polymorph into something (or change another's shape), they gain the physical and natural qualities of that creature, but not the magical qualities. This would include non-magical abilites that are derived from the creature's physical nature, but not learned skills. Low-light vision, flying, etc., would all be gained. I don't believe that a learned skill such as Disable Device would transfer over, as it is either a learned skill or the result of a creature's magical nature. However, I don't recall Pixie's having either the skill or a spell-like ability to disarm traps, but I could be mistaken.

    Gnolyn:

I see what your saying here, but there is one "Familiar" that does have the ability to disarm traps, and I could swear it's a Pixie, but I'll check.

If, in fact, a Pixie Familiar does have the ability to Disarm Traps, I would think by Polymorphing into one, you gain that ability. Obviously I'm not sure, hence the question.

I don't see Disarming Traps as a magical ability, but an innate one that should carry over just as night vision and the like would.

Was hoping someone on this magery board has tried this spell and would know the answer.

When alone, with no Henchman, having the ability to Polymorph into a Pixie that can Disarm; in conjunction with having the "Unlock" spell in your spell book, would add some awesome rogue qualities to a mage.
