POLL: Some MOD ideas.

Here are some things that I would like to see in a MOD or two. Most of them would be mostly for fun but things like the Anomen-rebalance MOD and Montarons return could be very well made, actually. If I could I would make a MOD with all these things but I suck in modding so I can just sit and hope for someone to pick up these idéas.

1. An Anomen-rebalance MOD where he gains some stats if he goes Chaotic Neutral. There isn't just nothing to achieve if you want's to have him but you are playing evil.


2. Valygar romance - He have potential of being a great romance NPC.

3. Mazzy Romance - So is she. After all, her boyfriend is dead.

4. Safana with romance - She was a great NPC in BG1 but I miss her and she is very suitable for a romance.

5. Montaron - He was one of my favourite characters in BG1 together with Viconia, Tiax and Xan. You could find him after Xzar is dead and then he tells you that he wanted to get rid of Xzar and now he had the chance once and for all.

6. Xan - Dunno how you can put him in but I'm sure it could be done.

7. Tiax - You could just save him from spellhold and help him take over the world.
"Tiax will rule all!"

8. A Minsc-gets-normal MOD. I hate him as he is and that mod is looking very promising.

9. Dynahier - You could find he together with Minsc and Jahiera or in spellhold for being a rouge mage.

10. A Dynahier - Minsc romance - We all saw the glimse in Minsc eyes in BG1 for Dynahier. Just work? HA!

11. An revival MOD for Yoshimo. He is the only pure thief in the game if we don't include Safana so it should be done.

12. A Haer'-Dalis romance. I heard that is was originally meant to be in the game but somehow they decided to not put it in.

13. Kagain - He was a funny NPC and a great fighter. But this time he would actually have his correct aligment - Neutral Evil.

@dmc - I think Anomen would have gotten more wisdom because now he knows that what he did was wrong and he therefore gained the points.

About Valygar - I didn't know this, but it would be great. Also with Yoshimo I would like it but with a smaller download than the huge for Tortured Souls.

And at last, Kagain is waaaay cooler than Korgan and he is from BG1 and therefore v.1

 

I'd like to have Tiax back again because he was just so demented in BG1. Pity he got missed out for the second game.

 

Hmm. Never thought of that. Or I could just use the characters I send to Tal a time ago but I have deleted them and I can't find them on SP. Where are they Tal.

But that's not the point. I meant a story with him as well and things like that. Not just the character without anything else. In that case I could Ctrl-J Safana, too, before she dies and raise Anomen's stats with Shadowkeeper. Things like that.

It's hard to give him a wisdom bonus in this variant and there's no reason to raise any other stat.

He was intended so. Ages ago I was surprised to find his romantic dialogues in dialog.tlk

3. Mazzy Romance - So is she. After all, her boyfriend is dead.

Well, some people do fancy half-sized races, no offence to halflingophiles

He was a nice NPC with an interesting background. Also a mage without fireballs or clouds is certainly not going to be boring

7. Tiax - You could just save him from spellhold and help him take over the world.

Ekhm... are you serious? I'd rather say babysit him.

No reason to hate him, but it would be nice to see his sanity finally restored.

Do you mean red mage or thief/mage?

Good idea. Very good one. If someone would make a nice story about how she in fact survived without changing Minsc's dialogues and only blocking the one with Aerie...

He's as dead as dead can be. Even his heart is delivered to Ilmater. Let's leave him so.

Yes, also a good idea. I wouldn't play it anyway, but I would definitely read the dialogues.

Why shouldn't his true alignment be his original LE? He didn't seem especially goody goody, but no alignment could be guessed with acceptable accuracy. There are lawful thieves and chaotic law abiders too.

 

I'd noticed Valygars' dialogues as well. And Tried stringing a few together. They seem, interesting, as far as I can tell.

A while ago I started a Haer'Dalis Romance, I'd got a few things from dialog.tlk and asking a few other SP members to help. However I had to put it on hold when I lost the game and my little helpers vanished. So perhaps if I can gather more I could restart it. Maybe make it a double with Valygar. Still, Mazzy might want to keep her squire.

Just an addon - You can find Montarons corpse in the harper stronghold after Xzar is dead. Maybe he could be taken and revived? Maybe the Harpers kicked his arse so hard he could never be...

1. As I said he should earn a lot of wisdom because now he knows what's wrong and what's right.

7. Yes, I mean it. He is soo cool and could get pretty useable, too, as a gnome Thief/Cleric with 16 DEX. (I have forgotten the WIS.)

13. He is living and adventuring for wealth and money and he wouldn't even stop to consider if he should betray his friends for money. He would just do it. He is THE Neutral Evil.

 

1) Ano definitely should get at least some advantage to been evil. Maybe make his alignment evil instead of neutral so he fits in better with evil groups? Or maybe give him special ablilities?

2) Tortured Souls includes a Valygar romance.

3) I've always said that Mazzy should be romanced. I like her.

4) Hmm, by the time you find her in the forests, you are pretty late in the game so you wouldn't have time to develop romance. Unless you put her somewhere else. But she's kinda...hard to romance, I can't picture her staying with one guy.

5) If Monty comes back, Xzar should then DEFINITELY come back. By the way, the Darkest Day already does this but that mod is extremly buggy.

6) Xan absolutly rocks! He definitely should come back.

7) Don't think he should fight Quayle, just exchange insults. Aerie would go berserk if anyone attacks Quayle. I like this guy, but he's a lousy cleric and not that good of a thief.

8) Hell no. Minsc wouldn't be Minsc if he's normal.

9) Yeah, she's quite cool, although you'd have to change a lot of Minsc-Edwin banters.

10) No way! Minsc is...well...Minsc.

11) Tortured Souls already does this.

12) There was going to be one in the oringinal game but they apparently didn't have time to do it. This should definitely be made. Although somebody else is already doing it.

13) I always thought Kagain is Korgan's brother. No, I like him, but he shouldn't return. One dwarven mercenary is quite enough.

Not much to say but here we go:

I think Minsc should become normal so that I can actually stand to have the twit in my party. His witch could come back as well...I don't really care. I personally feel that there are enough spell casters in BG2.

As for the possible male romances, I think they should be done a.s.a.p. so that the females of the world can have more of a choice than either Anomen or loneliness.

As for the return of Xan, I defiantly think he should come back! Reasons: The website that I have partial ownership to is named after him, I always liked him in BG1, and I've always felt bad that he gets killed by a simple giant spider in the book Baldur's Gate. Also, it would create a lot of interaction if he tried to romance Jaheira while you were trying to do the same.

 

Ah...but there are some options for the ladies. Kelsey is a HUGE favorite among the ladies. Just read some of the posts over at the FWP forums. Plus, there is Solaufein, though it is rather late in the game when you find him, making romance options occur later.

As for Xan, read my post a little further up this thread. He's already back and ready to play

 

@Tal - The characters aren't there, I have looked and looked but I still couldn't find them.

 

I think what Taluntain was referring to is the entry titled "Extra Playable Characters v1.3" Here is the description:

Some extra NPCs (mostly BG1 characters) you can summon into your game via the CLUA console. This package includes Alora, Branwen, Coran, Drizzt, Faldorn, Garrick, Jon Irenicus, Khalid, Kivan, Quayle, Saemon Havarian, Safana, Tiax, Xan and Xzar.

 

Hmm, I've tried that Xan mod, not very good I'd say. I mean, why would anyone say "..." if they were summoned to your Pocket Plane?

 

I'd probably say '...?!'

but it depends on what I was doing at the time.

I totally agree with the anomen thing btw, perhaps he should become more dexterous or something - or more evil - I actually changed his alignment so he wouldn't leave my party.

 

Hmm, that's an interesting idea. I might add that one to my to do list.

I was actually working on this, but scrapped the idea after my writers backed out. There is one in development by someone else, though.

Never used her in BG1, so I'm not too familiar with her personality. She is with Coran in BG2, so we'd need some way to explain that. Maybe include with it a mod with Coran as well and have a love triangle (as was intended for H'D and Aerie)?

You're talking as though its already in development. Tayja and I are still in the writing stage of it, but we'll get it out eventually.

Hmm, maybe that should be included as a component in the Expanded Minsc mod.

If I decide to include #9, then this will be in as well.
