Definatly in my top 5 rpg's ever, I must have played that game for countless hours (had a lot of time back then)

Combat system ruled, how to upgrade those weapons I loved it, especially the cool moves when powered up. spell that change animation when above level 8, man was I surprised when my fireballs turned into firedragons, I remember that day vivedly.

Did play seiken densentsu a bit but found it to different from 2 and didn't really like it.

All in all one of the best games out there, it doesn't really have that final fantasy feel to it, it's more mature I think.

No two ways about it, this was THE definitive RPG of the snes generation. Its still one of the coolest RPG's I own.

I Have the proper cartridge of SOM I, and I own the emulator of SOM II. I hope that they make a sequel for it on the next gen consoles

i think that number 2 is the greatest one... isnt it great that it had even more possibilities to choose a character than Diablo had... it is much funnier too...

Oh man, I remember I was playing as the fighter guy in the third one, and when I got to his home town, we found pornography! I was laughing for days on end.

You know, Seiken Detentsu 3e. Even though it was directly translated from Japanese, it still counts!

The first one totally revolutionalized RPG's.

Apeman is right; the combat system ruled because it was so unique. Unlike turn-based battle with wait time, this game blended together Ninja Turtles style fighting and real-time magic with a great plot and level up scheme. There weren't too many RPG games back then where two players can play at the same time.

I only played the second one once through, using three magic-users. I'm a little disappointed that the leveling up of weapons was scratched, because upgrading weapons by finding/buying new ones is pretty much what all the other RPG's do. But the variety of classes for each character and the different party combinations makes things interesting again.

You don't actually see it, but the Swordsman doesn't want to go back into his house, can't remember why, been a while, and if you have the sorceress (Angela, I believe it was) in the group she says something like "What's the problem? Don't want us to see your collection of porno?"

I would just play with the Chibuki (sp) hammer for like, ten minutes at a time.

"Small, large! Small, large! Small, large! Small..."

Secret of Mana was one of my favorite games on the SNES (one of my friends borrowed it and lost it **** him! so now I have to emulate it, yuk!) I never played any of the sequals to the game though I have emulated versions of Secret of Mana 2.
On the Play Station there's a game called Legend of Mana and I think that it's supposed to be a spin off of the games (I'm not to keen on that game though because of how it was being marketed.)

Seiken Densetsu is one of the best games ever in my books. Played it through in 2p mode with a rp-freek of a friend of mine 2 years ago.

[IMG] At the time it was one of my favorite games. I thought the concept of powering up the spells the more you use it was a good idea. All in all a great game with a lot of good memories.

I had forgotten about Final Fantasy Adventure on the Game Boy. That game is actually in the Secret of Mana series, and actually, Secret of Mana is a sequal to FFA.
Legend of Mana for the Play Station was marketed to be in the Secret of Mana series. On it's own it's a decent game but not good enough to be considered part of the series (in my humble opinion.)
