You're a guy, right?

There's some "studies" that give males lower sperm counts when they wear briefs. Because your testicles are held close to your body all the time, and if you wear tight "well fitting" jeans, your testicles don't stay at the 93F they are supposed to be. Your scrotum relaxes to allow them to hang further from your body, but your clothing keeps them close. So, the sperm either don't mature properly and cannot fertilize an egg, or the enzymes that power the flagella (using fructose from your semen) don't function or denature, causing that sperm to become immobile. That's not to say ALL your sperm become infertile; but you can lose 70 or 80% of your fertility. This can be a GOOD thing, if you want it to be. =)

If you wear boxers, your testicles "hang", and over long term your epiditimus stretches out and your testicles hang a lot further down. In terms of "functionality", this does not affect them, because your scrotum will still contract as necessary to keep them warm enough. But I've heard that a few women don't like the "sight" of that; usually, it's women that prefer younger men. =)

There's a couple of studies that also correlate a reduced sex drive wearing briefs, due to the increased pressure put on the testicles and their subsequent reduced ability to produce testosterone. I'm thinking reduced blood flow and volume, but I've never seen the actual studies; just summaries. But then, there's been a few studies that contradict that. I'd have to say it just depends on your mood and sexuality in general.

Anyways, I wear thongs.

I've been a "tighty whitey" guy all my life. I have worn boxers aleadry and liked them. Maybe I'll get some when my briefs finally disinegrate from the waistband

but when I'm playing indoor soccer I wear briefs. Kicking a ball without those and you will feel the pain of other balls bouncing against your leg. Ouch

 

My comfort got me into boxers and my desire to leave open the option of children have kept me in them.

 

I had to be half-naked almost any day of the week, for my study (fysiotherapy). You don't want to wear loose-fit underwear, believe me. So I usually wear the some more tighter boxers.
Some sort of Briefs with legs, no 'fly' in it! IMHO, a 'fly' in underpants look silly.

One mention: I don't mean a fly with these metal or plastic bits you can zip up/down. Boy that must hurt! (mmh, see end of post)

Since my wife and I don't want any children, lower sperm count is good.
Not sure about the testicles hanging down thing. I married an older woman, I'll ask.

Boxer-briefs, are the way to be. I agree with Sir Belisarius.

 

I don't like my vitals swinging free, so it's briefs for this boy. And since I already have 3 kids, and took a step to lower my sperm count that was a helluva lot more drastic than just briefs, that point has no relevance for me.

I've worn briefs all my life, and had three kids. My understanding is that the statistical impact of briefs on potency is minimal. They also had no effect on my sex drive, thank you very much
