I don't know how many times I've done the first test in the pocket plane, as good and evil characters. Last night for the first time I ended up facing Duke Elton, Elliseme and the thief who's name I can't remember at this moment. I've heard many times that as a good character you face Sarevok, Bodhi and Irenicus in one shot, but this has never happened?

So what's the criteria for facing the big three good or evil? In all the game's I've played it's only happened once. Is it level based? Alignment?

You might have thought you were of good alignment but your alignment can change depending on the choices you make for the tears of bhaal quest.

Those choices will affect your alignment and an evil alignment will see you pitted against the 'nicer' personalities of the realms.

I'm aware of this. That's what happened the first time through (of course me being brain dead didn't realize until after Saradush). But even then I didn't face those three.

And in all the times I've played good I've NEVER faces the bad three, despite the fact I'm told I should.

I've faced Eliseme, and Elhan once, (I think the big 3 are random... maybe?), and I've fought Aaron Linvail once..., but not bodhi or Irenicus.

As far as I can tell, whether you fight the "Big Three" depends on level. I was bored once, and used the CLUA Console to max my party's XP, and fought Sarevok, Irenicus, and Bodhi (Watching Sarevok go one-on-one with himself was very entertaining :D ). It never happened to me before that, and has never happened since with normal-levelled parties.

Okay, that makes sense then. I was in a violent and destructive mood and decided to go solo with a max level monk. *evil grin*

I almost got Sarevok and Irenicus all the time, probably due to the good or neutral parties. That part of ToB can be fun, but it becomes boring because of the long slaughter.

When I soloed my way through TOB, my evil thief was over level 30 when I got to that part and I ended up arrayed against Elhan, Ellesime and Aran. Pretty much impossible fight. Even with the overpowered Improved Kitthix, a summoned djinn and the berserk warrior from the Iron Horn of Valhalla, it took a dozen reloads to get the better of them. Elhan seemed to constantly go into Whirlwind attacks that knocked my HPs down in no time at all and my summoned monsters just didn't do squat except slightly delay my inevitable demise.

Other times through the game I've played with good and evil parties but never encounter Irenicus, Bodhi and Sarevok there. As a good party, I usually end up with drow as the final fight and with an evil party it's knights of the order.

What level do you have to be to trigger the Irenicus/Bodhi/Sarevok fight?

It depends on your alignment. If you are evil, you will not get Sarevok and Irenicus.

When I fought Elis. Elhan and/or Aaron, I had a party of level 20-24 characters actually... I believe, and I didn't have any difficulty, I had 2 mages casting abi's Wilting, my guys were hasted and had hardened skin on. I was a Berserker of course, so that might have helped :p

Maybe there are different versions of them, weaker versions for weaker parties, tougher versions for tougher parties. I know the time I fought the three good guys, it was one of the hardest fights of the game. I'd taken down Yaga-Shura without too much hassle but these three gave me a real run for my money.

Rightful assumption, but as far as the files of those creatures (i.e. .CRE) are concerned, there are no different versions. One file for each creature.
