Pick Pocket Bug?

    When I tried to pick pocket an npc and failed she started casting spells as if she was hostile, but she didn't have a red circle under her, and I clicked on her to attack but since she wasn't "red" it only started a dialogue with her instead.
    And when I left the dialogue she didn't care that I had tried to steal from her.

    Bug?

    I have all expansions and the game is patched.

    From the one time I tried playing a rogue in the OC and attempted pick pocket I remember this same sort of behavior.

    Sometimes pickpocket failed and the npc just stood there (didn't notice?) and sometimes they attacked. Sometimes the guards would come running to her aid-- sometimes they'd attack her and defend me!

    Just because the npc was not red and marked "hostile" doesn't mean you can't attack her. Right click on her (instead of left clicking) and use the radial menu to select "Attack" as your option.
