Because of a couple of bugs I'm starting SOA again with a ranger/cleric I played through BG1. I'm going to attempt to finish the Jaheira romance this time (last time, no matter what I did, the romance wouldn't continue once I returned from the underdark.)

I'm going to play with Sarevok eventually since I haven't done so before.

A ranger/cleric is more than capable of soloing the game so for the remaining characters I'm looking for some nice party interaction.

I was thinking that I'd likely go with Imoen, Jan, and either Minsc or Keldorn.

My question is this: I know Jan and Minsc have some early conversations. Do these conversations continue through TOB? I've heard that Imoen and Keldorn have some of the best conversations in the game, do Keldorn and Jan interact? Who interacts the best with Sarevok? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

 

With Sarevok? Hmm, Immie, Jan, and Viccy all have good conversations with him, although I wouldn't take Viconia if you're taking Keldorn.

Minsc has very few conversations in ToB, unless you take Aerie with you, and even then there aren't a lot. If you want some fun, have two of either Jaheira, Aerie, or Viconia as they'll catfight with each other.

Haer'Dalis has a number of good interactions with Aerie. Valygar and Mazzy have a number of good ones as well.

 

Thanks Rastor, the lack of interaction with Minsc in TOB sealed the deal, I'll take Keldorn.

One last question: does the apparently very interesting conversation between Keldorn and Imoen occurn in SOA or TOB? Just trying to decide how many quests to do in Chapter 2. TIA.

 

That INTERESTING Imoen-Keldorn conversation only occurs in TOB, I think. Although if you already know what they're going to say, there's no point waiting for it...

BTW, Jan reacts with everyone, I think.

We've yet to see any NPC interaction between Minsc and Aerie - or between any of the NPC's for that matter. There was one little exchange between Aerie and Cernd, but that's all. How long does it take before such interchanges begin?

I thought that it might be because we're playing multi-player (I'm running a PC, Minsc, and Jan; my husband has Main Char, Aerie, and Jaheira), but I was running Cernd when we saw the exchange I mentioned above. Any thoughts, anyone?

 

Don't know how multiplayer will affect the game rallymama; I know that I've had conversations between Aerie and Minsc after I pick her up in the circus tent and before I'm even able to get to the edge of waukeen's promenade to head to the slums. That conversation has always started up real quick.

 

The Minsc-Aerie conversation is random. I've had games where it started the instant I left the circus tent, and another where it didn't start until Yaga Shura.
