Paladin Kits

Are there any paladin kits that allow max proficiencies in weapons, (Grand Mastery), and aren't a part of a huge mod or overpowered? I've been looking for one, and I've seen like 30, but so far nothing I'm looking for yet.

 

Well if you class Ease of Use a huge mod then I know of none. This mod allows for any class that could have two prof in something, to have 5.

 

imo, giving paladins grand mastery over any weapon is overpowered considering the advantages that their class already has but i don't like using pallys anyway

 

Ease of Use, as Malovae already mentioned. Oversight features the Holy Liberator, a CG paladin kit, and the BW Warrior Kit Pack has some as well. I haven't actually played any of them so I can't comment on balance.

there was a reason weapon mastery was limited to pure fighters....

Paladins are already the most powerful fighters. Their special abilities and the holy sword make them deadly enough -- weapon mastery would just unbalance the game even further.

None of those mods made it so I can acheive grand mastery with a pally n e wayz...

Having an overpowered character isn't so bad with the tactics mod... improve Illych meteor swarms me and summons demons against me while I'm level7 Kinda problematic no?

*sigh*... I used the ease of use mod to shorten the cinematics, and the opening one never works, and the dialog is retarded, and I can't uninstall Is by any chance this familiar to anyone?

Allow Multi-Class Grandmastery in Ease of Use will adjust any class that only allows two stars to five, including paladins. It's not documented, but that's what it does.

 

I know, I clicked on it... but when I went to create it didn't work, I've not re-installed ToB and everything 'cause I couldn't get rid of the "shorter cutscenes". Thanks again for the help, I'm going to try and get these mods to work again.

Btw, the TDD mod link is gone

 

Shorter Cutscens was also included on the sly with TDD or something - it's a pain. A reinstall should fix it, if you delete your Override directory in between.

The mod list on SP is outdated, if that's where you were looking for TDD. A more comprehensive and more frequently updated one can be found at http://modlist.pocketplane.net/ for future reference, which Tal's thread also links to indirectly. TDD itself is to the best of my knowledge not supported anywhere at the moment, however as part of the Big Picture/BGT mods it is supported at Forgotten Wars. @omnigodly: There are various custom paladin kits on the net and some can achieve Grand Mastery in some weapons, for example there's a Crusader kit that allows you Grand Mastery in Greatsword.

If you're playing without ToB installed, go to your Baldur's Gate 2\Override folder and locate the column for paladins. As you see, fighters have 5 everywhere except fighting styles, rangers and paladins have 2's and pretty much everyone else has 1's pretty much everywhere. Replace the 2's with 5's for paladins (kits have separate columns), save the file and you can now have Grand Mastery with paladins.

Yea... Tal, I actually checked lol!!(first time for everthing ) I downloaded like 50 mods, and when I go to the ease of use link, it supposedly has a link to TDD, which I guess is the same one you have on your site, neither work.

Thanks for the help again guys, I'm actually looking at going kensai then dual classing into mage now... but I can't beat Illych and his freaking meteor swarming-demon summoning-short sword +2 owning, piece of crap thief or mage or whatever .

Btw, I reinstalled everything, the ease of use mod did work for making all classes get 5 prof slots in weaps, and the override folder was decimated after the reinstall too, so no more short foolish cutscenes!!

 

Thanks. DId I even mention the BG series and NWN would suck without this site/forums/etc? 'cause yea, not to be a kiss-ass or anything, but I love this place


Oh btw... none of the downloads for TDD seem to work, fileplanet is giving me a 3.09kb download, and the other places all have links that no longer work
