i have played several games on my laptop, including heroes of might and magic series, tes4 oblivion, tes3 morrowind, with good performance and no video problems.
however, my baldurs gate series and icewind dale series have serious graphic problems - blurred, etc.
no graphic configuration seem to work
i have a p4, 512 mb laptop, witha a ati radeon 256 mb graphic card.
does this have any connection with the game engine?
do you have a hint on how to address this issue?

"serious graphic problems - blurred, etc."

You're going to have to define those problems a bit better.

instead of vivid colors, like on my desktops monitor, the images are faded, and the contrast/brightness settings are at the lowest.
i have opengl configured but it does not seem to help.
    it is configured as 24-bit.

It might be a problem with your graphics card drivers. If you are using the latest ones, try using 4+ years old ones. IE games seem to have issues with newer drivers.

Taluntain, you have a pretty good coherent idea. Perhaps the game engine is too old, after all.
I will give it a try.
Do u recommend a place where I can find old drivers for ATI Radeon cards?
    Best regards.

Nope, sorry, don't really know any... but if you have any friends with older graphics cards, they might still have the original driver CDs, which would have old drivers on them. You could try without any drivers, too.

If its old drivers your after you can try voodoofiles, http://www.voodoofiles.com/type.asp?cat_id=2

The Lord only knows if these will even support your card, so back up your system, plant a few system restore checkpoints, and use at your own risk.
