    1. Gothic
    2. Arcanum
    3. Pool of Radiance

So, what sucks and what doesn't in these three?

My primary concerns are NPC interaction, character development and interface.

I don't have time to give in depth reviews right now so bear with me :p

    1. Gothic: (I only have gothic2) It is an above average RPG 7.5/10

    2. Arcanum: Great game 9/10

    3. Pool of Radiance: you're not serious are you?

Arcanum is boooooooooooring, it maked me fall asleep when I played it. I hate that handguns are in a (D&D rip-off) CRPG.

    3. Dire! You know how you often hear "if you only play one game this year make it THIS game"? Well here you have "if you only avoid one game this year make it THIS game"!

    1. Have I ever heard of it? Hmm. Not played in any case.

    2. Sucky graphics, sucky animations, sucky musics. Everything else was peach (for what it's worth, as I didn't really like the game anyway)

    3. Never played, thought of getting my hands on it at some point but then I read the feedback on it.

    3. Pay any money for this game and I shall personally strangle you. You may wish to get it just to see how crap a game can really be.

1: I just reinstalled it a week ago and i noticed the bad graphics (for today). But i still think its better than the second part. I'd give it about 8.5/10. Great game!

2: Havent played it much, so i rather wont say anything.

3: havent played either but just look at the PoR forum. I odnt think all those people can be wrong ;) :(

    1. It was a nice game for me, as far as I remember. But I played it a few years ago, so the graphics might be a little outdated. But I would defenitly try it, the 10 or 15 € would be good invested.

    2. Never played it.

    3. PoR ... no comment ;)

Didn't play the first to, but the third, I'm a bit confused by this line...

But the original post asked for Pool of Radiance, not Pool of Radiance 2.

Anyways... Didn't play Pool of Radiance 2 if you were referring to that.

Pool of Radiance the original I did play. What sucked? Hmmm where do I start... Plot sucked, only NPC was the Phlan clerk that doesn't join - she just sits in town hall handing out quests to you and rewards you when you've finished it (the plot :nolike: ), only NPC "hirelings" may join the party (they suck), experience capped at level 6, (thus making Sleep was the best spell in the game,) ;)

Well, for an old old game, I DO have to give it some credit at least. The interface is the same as the ones I'm used to. And like all the old D&D games, you get to create up to 6 party members, which I like to do.

You know you might have a too strong comp  :)

Ah, if we're talking about the original POR than I'm not sure. It was the first D&D game ever though, so give it some credit

I asked about the newer Pool of Radiance. It isn't labelled as 2 (different company), so I didn't mark it as such. Anyway, sorry for all the confusion.

As far as playing goes, Pool of Radiance is absolute rubbish (in my opinion) and I didn't get very far in Arcanum so I couldn't really say :) The other I haven't played at all

I played Arcanum and loved it. It is different. I'm a BG fan. Arcanum is a change of pace. There are many different ways to play and you can be a really bad guy. Won't give away any endings but believe me you have choices.

1: yeah, its not a bad game, despite the bad name and a script that sounds like its been translated from German, by Germans and then voiced by Germans with American accents. Worth a few quid though, and might be on Platinum now.

    2: Never played

3: PoR is the worst RPG in the history of anything... ever... avoid like the plague
