I am thinking of purchasing a true rules DND games that is playable online with vast resources and lots of players.. Is this a good game to play (NWN)?? Are there lots of users online, does everyone have different campaigns? How exactly does it work.. also, once the game is purchased, do I have to pay monthly or anything like that? Are there modules online for everyone to play or do you have to seek out a DM who wants to let you join? I just need any general info on this online game and if it is fun, and most importantly long enough for me to be able to raise in levels and truly have fun.. thanx

There are lots of NWN users online, but it's not exactly a MMORPG.

There is no monthly fee to play, and it's actually against the EULA for any server to charge a fee.

Basically any owner of NWN can set up a server to host an online game with any module that's available, or even create his/her own module with the included toolset. There are many servers already set up that allow anyone to join. There are some that require you to apply to their group in order to play on their servers. A server can officially support up to 64 players at once, though of course how many can practically play depends on the server.

Bascially when you buy the game and click on the multiplayer button to play and internet game, lists of currently active servers come up for you to choose from, or you can enter the address for a server that you know of to log into. Once logged in, you start playing. Simple as that.

NWN is the best (if not only) one currently available.

BTA covered all your other questions. I'd recommend finding a learning server for your first online session or two. It will help you learn the atmosphere and techniques.
