Tomorrow I'm leaving. Of course, I'm sure not many of you know me, but still...

Hope I have fun and don't run into any DM's or the like. I'm over there for two weeks. Anyway, hope you found some kind of interesting or amazing aspect of this post.

How long are you going to New Zealand for? Where in New Zealand?

 

HB, i edited when i noticed i left out that fact. Two weeks. Also, travelling aorund alot, but only on the South Island.

Flights are booked for next October,
We'll probably be limited to the North Isle due to time (only two weeks ) and friends wedding at Edgecombe.

Depends what currency you started with. Some people need very little money to get by over here. Terrible time to be here though, the weather is awful this holiday weekend. Go Easter.

 

One day, I'm going to visit Australia and New Zealand. Of all the places I want to visit, those two top the pile. I'd love so much to go on a cricket trip with the Barmy Army to Australia. That would be such an experience and the holiday of a lifetime.

 

Barmy, why don't you come down when the Lions tour later this year? It will be absolutely huge!

 

Slightly off-topic, but following what Barmy said, I would definitely like to visit Greece. Unfortunately my Euro trip this may will only cover france, italy and spain :/

how's the night life in new zealand? and nobody take offense at this, because I only know 1 person who used to live in NZ and he said he found it kind of boring and am really curious whether or not thats just for him

 

I'd love to Tassadar. Money doesn't allow though this year unfortunately. Unless you fancy sending a few thousand pounds .

 

Depends entirely on where you are. Some places you won't find a better night life anywhere (probably will, but you know what I mean). Other places, well, "What night life?" would be the best way of putting it.

 

Yeah - what do you mean by "night-life"? Our national bird, the kiwi, only comes out at night.

Barmy - coming to NZ doesn't cost much because the pound is worth so much more than the NZ dollar. A pint of beer will cost you about 1 pound.

 

Friend of mine has gone backpacking(exp?) in NZ for four weeks. He's sending emails from internet cafés every 3-4 days and seems quite happy with his chosen holiday location...

 

Sounds like he's spending too much time in the internet cafes and not enough time out having fun. Backpacking around New Zealand would be great. It's one of those things you never really do when you live somewhere.

 

We're probably going to hire a Camper.
I'm trying to work out if I'm going to jump from the Sky Tower in Auckland. I have a dislike of heights but for some reason have to do stupid things like this.

 

Good for you. New Zealand is a great place to do stupid things! Hooray for stupid things.

 

New Zealand is definently one of those places I would want to visit in my lifetime. Unfortunately I won't be able to do that in a long time, but perhaps someday I can afford and have time for such a trip.
