    It doesn't by default. (Quest Pack's AI changes modify Beholders to be affected by blindness, incidentally.)

    When I get those beasties in sight, it's already to late to cast spells most of the time, so I don't use magic, but cold steel. But it should word nonetheless, they have eyes you know.

    Nope, they aren't.

    I have Quest Pack installed, so this may have modified the actual numbers.

    Beholders either have 0% or 25% magic resistance.
    Eldar Orbs have 50%.
    Hive Mothers have 75%.

    I don't believe Beholders are 100% resistant even without mods.

    oh. Coming from the gold box games where beholders were 100% magic resistant, I assumed it was carried over to BG2. So I have never ever tried casting spells on gauths or beholders to confirm this. Talk about a paradigm shift ;)
