Here the most efficient solo melee tactics (without invoking powerful monsters) that I've found at highest level of difficulty : 1) put Alchemy as a secondary skill and progress as much as possible (it permits to gain lotsa money too when U sell created potions); 2) progress in Destruction until U can use spells reducing Poison Resistance ; 3) use those spells if U encounter poison-resistent and poison-immune creatures ; 4) poison your weapons in battles as soon as possible.

Example : if your Alchemy skill is high enough your character (even of level 1) can kill many creatures of intermediate power (ogres, trolls, minotaurs etc.) just in 1-3 hits of poisoned weapon.

Any comments ? With this tactic my current game at highest difficulty became too easy. Are there any tricks/mods to enhance monsters ?

    Thank U in advance,
    Yigor/Tioma

well, lightning dammage and res. reduction would be better, as there are virtually no light resist monsters besides storm atronaches.

at the mods issue, yes there a quite a bit actually, also to change the lvl progression, i don't know any good sites so i can't quite reccomend any for you sry

Thanx Balle!:) U can also poison melee and ranged weapons with poisons inflicting lightning damage.lol:p I have lotsa potions like that created from ectoplasms inflicting 100p of damage in 15 sec. It's probably more efficient and economic to use few potions like that high-level lightning spells (demanding a lot of magicka). Actually, there is no restricition on poisoning so U can do it before every single hit.

Anyway, it would be interesting to compare the attacking efficiency of a true Destructor Mage with a Fighter/Alchemist.

poison acts a little weird, since it scales with difficulty and it's also boosted by sneak attack multiplier

regardless, destructor mage is probably more powerful since he can incapatitate enemies (no difficulty penalty here), and can stack weakness to elements & magic as much as he likes before delivering a final blow - you can pretty quickly stack up several thousand hitpoints worth of damage

you can also use various spells that mess with the AI, such as frenzy or charm, not to forget invisibility, chameleon and summoning spells, which are unaffected by difficulty level (only your character is affected by it, but not summons or allies!)
