Have you ever had fun with this guy? You know, his name is Noober and he is in one of the southern towns. Nashkel I believer, or is it Bergeost?
He relentlessly chases your characters and says, "Heya!" God I hate that guy!
I never want to kill him when I have a good party. but it is fun to disarm and puch his lights out!
Anybody else dealt with him in a fun and interesting way? Isn't there a spell to change an NPC into a chicken or something? Or is that another game?

I don't think you can turn someone into a chicken ( I could be wrong) ... but there is an npc chicken in the game.

He is in Nashkel, but about the only fun I've had with him was continuously initiating conversation with him before he talked to me.... just to get it over with. After a while he tells you that you're the first person who listened to him before (or something to that effect). I don't think you get any more xp out of it... It just speeds up the process.

Sure you can. Pick him up and take him to Thalantyr. He's his apprentice. Thalantyr will try to turn him back, and if he succeeds, you get some nice XP. It can also fail however, and in that case he just says that he knew what he was getting into when he signed up for wizardry. :shake:

I meant I didn't think you could get any more xp out of initiating conversation with Noober yourself, instead of having him come and talk to you. ;)

You can talk to Noober 25 Times to get some XP or kill him with no reputation lose (perhaps they should put a major gain instead. Hmmm.)

Tal, When you say "Pick him up and take him to Thalantyr." You mean knock him unconscious? Where is Thalantyr again?

You take the talking chicken to Thalantyr, he's his apprentice who turned himself into a chicken accidentally.

Indeed.... don't forget to kill a skeleton in the High Hedge map, you need a skeleton-skull. Give the skull to Thalantyr and he will cast his marvelous antichickenator, and Melicamp will change back into a human or die.

About Noober, when you are patient, you will get 400 XP (after he said 10 times the same) and he will leave. Easy to get 400 xp, and 400 xp is worthful in the very beginning of the game. You can't polymorph him into a chicken, but there is a quest in Baldur's Gate wich has as loot the Wand of Polymorphing, wich allows you to polymorph him into a squirrel.

I prefer flesh to stone though.... :D
