    I have been playing IWD2 again recently, and in fact played it a little bit a few hours ago. When I went to load the game back up, it claims there is no disc in the drive and gives me the familiar screen to either insert Disc 2 or press ESC to abort.

    I have not changed the disc or anything else on this computer other than a few things in Microsoft Word which I can't imagine being connected to this. I took the disc out, put it back in, but I keep getting the same screen no matter what.

    Anyone know what this could be?

    Try and look at your configurations in the game. There´s a file called "icewind2" in the game folder. In my file it reads like this:

    ; Alias
    ; HD0 should point to the directory in which the game was installed
    [Alias]
    HD0:=C:bad:Games\Bioware\Icewind Dale II
    CD1:=C:bad:Games\Bioware\Icewind Dale II\Data\
    CD2:=C:bad:Games\Bioware\Icewind Dale II\CD2\;E:bad:CD2\;I:bad:CD2\;J:bad:CD2\;K:bad:CD2\

    This may have been altered somehow in your configurations, so the game can´t find your cd, even though it´s in the drive. Other than that I can´t see what else it could be. I had the same problem once with BGII, but the game worked after I manually typed the path for the CD1, CD2 etc.
