[IMG] Well, I finally beat it. And the last battle was damn hard with only a sorcerer and Imoen. Anyway, I was wondering if you people had any input as to what class I should be next. (I'm only asking because I kind of skipped through most of the side quests and don't quite know everything the game has to offer.) I was thinking a Monk, Fighter, Paladin, or Ranger.

Stronghold wise, it's not very good ;)

I have yet to use my Fighter's Stronghold for *anything*. It's out of the city, which means travel time back and forth if I need my stash of items. I'd rather hit the Waukeen Promenade and pick them up from the Temple of Ilmater where I keep them now, pick up on potions, check the stores and take a rest to memorize spells. The Monk and Barbarian also get this.

The Paladin I hear you go on some pretty nice quests, join an order, look for the oh so powerful sword.

Ranger is somewhat of a blah as well, the cabin being out of the way to not even make it worth the travel time to get there. At most, you get a cool item.

Class wise, I think playing any of the new 3rd edition type classes are best and weren't in BG. Barbarians are pretty straight forward, but a Monk and Sorcerer have some depth to them that would make it enjoyable.

Why not try something totally different than listed? A Blade Character isn't that bad as I'm finding with my second game and running a Thief Guild as a thief sounds interesting.

Be a monk. They are the best class i have ever seen. They have so many abilities, and that quivering palm, ooooh boy.

first i'm new here, been reading for a few weeks.

second, i've finished once with a kensai and started games with a monk (quit when i found out i was stuck with nalia's hold again :( ) and a sorcerer. but my hd just crashed and i gotta start all over so i'm gonna try a swashbuckler, he's practically a fighter/thief w/o spreading exp between classes. Though i must agree with Blackstaff and rinock the monk was a way cool class. I'll probably go play one again once i've messed around with a few different strongholds.

[IMG] Well, due to popular demand, I've decided to be a monk. Even when I was a sorcerer, I didn't get the planar sphere until after I was on chapter 6. I just didn't know how to get in, and like I said before, I kind of bypassed most of the side quests so I could beat it. (If I would have done all the side quests, I would never beat the game.) So I'm basically saying that I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to strongholds. I have no experience with them. I got along fine without them before and I've heard that the fighter stronghold is even worse, so I made my decision. Thanks for the input guys/gals.
