I've seen the PC version of MDK2 through VR glasses, for instance, even though we didn't put in any special code to support it (and it looked *really* sweet!).     One word of warning, however -- VR glasses tend to cut your frame rate roughly in half so that may limit their usefulness for processor-intensive games or people with lower- or middle-end systems.
