Quote: Bioware, I know the screenshots are not indictive of the campaign, but I sincerely hope you made the underdark, well, dark. I dont mean nighttime dark, I mean no light whatsoever. The darkness would really add to the atmosphere.

Many of the screenshots you see on the website are not taken from the campaign. You can trust me that there are several areas in the game where you want to have a light source with you ...

Quote: Level One spell 'Light' is going to be useful after all, or maybe darkvision?

Light is useful, but continual flame is way cooler. You can cast it on items like weapons, rings, helmets, etc now and these will become permanent continual light emitters, so you never need to cast light again.

Quote: If the henchmen talk to you and to each other, then I see no point in playing without two of them regardless of the difficulty. Party interaction is probably what I missed most in NWN (relative to the other D&D games I've played).

Right. The henchmen have quite a few helpful abilties that really enhance your gameplay. Asking a spellcaster buff the party up before combat, hearing their advice on certain topics or even just hear about their experience with a certain enemy can be really helpful. Also the henchmen interact with each other, which really reinforces the party feeling. I suggest anyone shout give it a whirl - I couldn't play without my two companions anymore.

Quote: So we don't have to tell them to buff up spell by spell anymore?

You can ask them to cast a certain spell on a certain party member (including familiars, etc). You can ask them to cast their short duration buffing spells on all party members or a certain party member, same with long duration spells or just all their buffing spells. Its nice, because if you anticipate a major combat, you really feel your party member becoming helpful. Its also nice to see your henchmen dispelling that bad cloudkill that has been cast on your little party on their own ... or watching them tear down a door together in no time just by a little voicechat command you issue. All in all we have some really nice AI and control improvements over the original henchmen and SoU and this makes taking multiple henchmen with you really worthwhile.
