    General Advice Needed
I think you will need to think carefully about who you want to take as a henchman. I tried to play through Hordes with a Rogue-type character solo and had a very hard time. If you're Rogue inclined make somebody can watch your back.

    Kukri or Short Sword
I will also throw in that the chances of finding a magical set of Kukri are much smaller than shortswords. 'Exotic' means not very common and so far fewer magical versions.

Can you help with solo play?
From personal experience I had a very difficult time as a Rogue/Shadowdancer combo when I solo'ed Hordes. Very difficult in some spots when I needed more firepower. I think a Fighter/Rogue/Shadowdancer would be a better mix for solo.

1.64 Beta 2 bug (lootable corpses)
The cloth is marked "undroppable", so it disappears. Before the change you wouldn't notice because the cloth would disappear the moment she died.

    More:
Unless I'm misunderstanding you, you're saying that her clothes would disappear even before 1.64, but they would do it as soon as she died rather than when you loot the body? Here's a pre-1.64 screenshot As you can see, the thief is dead, and her clothes have not disappeared. And when you looted her, they wouldn't have disappeared either, like they do now. True, this issue doesn't actually affect gameplay, but it does look pretty stupid - an armored Drow thief, who suddenly and inexplicably changes to wearing pink underwear? Surely something like this that is easily noticable and that affects the official campaign is worth fixing?
I'd call it a feature. It's an indication that you already looted that creature. You can still report it if you like, but I think the change is intentional.

    new patch problem
Problems due to third party hacks are not of our concern.

Why is this game so damn hard?

Another point to remember is that the game is balanced on the assumption that you will take a henchman with you.
Or even two, if you play HotU.

    1.64 Beta 2 available.
Thanks for your feedback, this could be quite useful since there have been some changes to the resource loading system for 1.64.

    BETA 1.64B and Touch Attacks
Since touch attacks are coded in the rules engine, I can't give you details, but here are a couple of the changes I could find in the build notes:

    - Many fixes to the attack bonus for Melee Touch Attacks.
You no longer get your weapon bonus from the weapon you have equipped.
You no longer get a weapon finesse bonus.
You no longer get a weapon focus bonus (unless its in unarmed attack).
You no longer get a epic weapon focus bonus (unless its in unarmed attack).
You no longer get the weapon master's special weapon bonus.
You no longer get two-weapon fighting penalties.
You no longer always have a 0 attack bonus when you have a ranged weapon equipped.
    - Fixed epic weapon bonus for touch attacks with unarmed attack.

    - Noticed that Zen Archery Feat was only being calculated for ranged touch attacks,
it is now only used for non-touch ranged attacks instead.

    Baldurs Gate 3
I think Atari announced in some printmag they are doing BG3, but I don't know more than that. I'm sure they'll have an official announcement about it. BioWare, at this time, is not working on a BG game.

    Shifter items merging properties?

Only thing I can think of is are you shifting to it directly from another shape? If so, your proerties won;t carry correctly until the next patch. Other than that, they should be transfering. Check with your server admin to see if they added any weird scripts. The bad thing is, it seems Bio isn't going to change the way of item merging, item attributes still don't stack, the highest AC bonus is used instead of contributed from different sources. :(
That is intentional and will not change. We consider the shifter in it's current form is balanced.

    XP cap

Now, my question is why wouldn't bioware make a tiny tiny effort to release something that allows it - so that people could enjoy at home an epic sorcerer/epic palemaster/epic dragon desciple.
If I've ever seen a catapult full of kittens launched against a glass plate, this is it. That "tiny" effort is several man month worth of zots, ranging from familiar, summon, companion template creation to package data entry (recommended feats, skills, spells for about 40 different templates) to ensuring that players can not run into a situation where they can't level up because there are no feats to pick anymore to spell and ability coding to scale above level 40 to QA. Simply put, unlimited levels is not the way D&D is meant to play. 40 is enough. Because not everything in NWN is data driven. Quite a lot of things are coded in the rules engine and the game would show unpredictable behavior if the hard limit was removed.
