    Playing with platinum

Sorry, meant since the release of the Plat. Edition it's been a month. But aye, it shouldn't be taking this long. Like I said, if they knew that there were problems with the 1.63 to 1.64 version, why didn't they just release the Plat. Edition as a 1.62 release? Specially if they have been working on the 1.64 for 6 months now. Don't they have a Q&A Team internally? [IMG]
I guess "they" had their reasons.

    100% CPU ??
    Two things:
    a) 100% CPU use is not necessarily bad. Remember that dedicated server means "dedicated to the server duties, do not run the game on the same machine", it can be expected to take up a large part of your CPU time.
    b) The automatic windows update client is known to often cause high CPU load.

Post you Platinum edition questions here.

Well, seeing as none of BW's products for the forseeable future involve Atari, and this mix up seems to rely squarely on Atari's shoulders (unless BW is lying through its teeth) I wouldn't feel worried about buying products from BW. Given this, and the fiasco with Temple of Evil, and the crap with SecuROM, I'd be very wary about dealing with Atari.
This is not true. The reason that the Platinum edition came out before the 1.64 patch is a combination of a couple of factors.
    1) The 1.64 beta patch had some serious stability issues that took a long time to track down and fix. This delayed the release of the 1.64 patch by a significant amount of time.
    2) The Platinum edition came out earlier than we were expecting.
The combination of the above two issues has led to the current situation where Platinum users can only play on a few servers until the 1.64 patch is released. We are working hard to try and have the 1.64 patch available as soon as possible, so that the situation can be resolved. I hope that clarifies things a little

    Whats Platinum?

You currently cannot play online with Platinum.
That answer actually rather misleading. You can play online with Platinum, but you can only play with other Platinum users (which is a small amount of the online users at the moment). Once the 1.64 patch comes out, Plantinum users will be able to play with non-Platinum users. The price, and the DVD edition for Platinum are two of the biggest differences between GOLD + HotU and Platinum. The Platinum edition also has a few bug fixes to some issues in the offical campaigns that are not currently available in the 1.62 patch (but which will be available once the 1.64 patch is released).
