Here are today's Neverwinter Nights forum highlights, collected by NWVault. Please take into account that these are only single parts of various threads and should not be taken out of context. Success of premium modules vs. acceptance of copy protection method

    The toolset lock-out
You do understand that this is just simply a consequence of the copy protection and not a deliberate attempt to prevent you for opening them up, right?

Quote: I hope the nice folks at Bioware are still looking at these issues and are considering changes.
Depending on the success of the Premium Neverwinter Nights Modules, we would be happy to look into an off-line solution so that more people can play. You do understand that we want more people to play our games in the long run, right? Hmmmm, I think I am repeating myself. :)

    Authentication offline possible ?

No, you are not "just a designer, etc..." - you are an employee of Bioware, whose opinion reflects on the entire company and which carries greater weight than the general public's, like it or not. I am amazed that there is no oversight of these things; I doubt that there are many companies who look favorably on their employees annoying potential customers with such a cool "tell it like it is" attitude. If you are only giving people your personal opinion, then you might consider taking the "Bioware" off your signature and posting as a civilian.
I believe that 90% of the visitors to this board prefer my sometimes blunt but honest answers over filtered PR speak and my experience on this board has times and times again supported that believe.

    annoying potential customers
If someone is annoyed by that fact that it is pointed out to him/her that he/she is actually wrong (with proper quotes, links, etc), then that's something he/she should work on. I, for my part, can not let a "Nobody told me that I had to authenticate" and similar things stand without correction.

Success of premium modules vs. acceptance of copy protection method

if none are forthcomming, the DD project will most likely have been considered a failure and discontinued..
I don't see how you can say that. The sales determine success, not the copy protection methods used.
    Yes.

    1.65 status?

Quick question: will there be any new scripting functions in the 1.65? I am (of course) thinking specificially of GetSkyBox and GetFogColor.
No. As I have said before, this is an update to resolve primarily the functionality of the Mac and Linux versions with the Premium Neverwinter Nights Modules, but it also includes the Stormy skybox, as well as other code fixes that have been done in the last few months since 1.64. We will have more details when we get closer to 1.65 Beta 1, hopefully, sometime next week.
Actually I think those might have some how snuck into the 1.65 patch. I wonder how that happened. [IMG]
