    ShadowGuard - two Malthors!
Thanks for the feedback, Gestalt. It's good to see you around again.

    Premium Module Bugs
Thanks for the bug report, Pops. I've added them to our list of things to consider for a potential future patch to the module. Our QA process on these modules involved three different teams: our community beta testers on the front lines, internal designers and QA staff here at BioWare, and some heavy-hitting final-pass QA over at Atari. Together, these three teams managed to catch the vast majority of bugs and also make some valuable balancing and design suggestions along the way. Some bugs slipped through (the Serah quest issue being the most serious) and we're working to address them.

    WW Raven XP error
Yup, this was a dumb scripting error on my part, I believe. I need to look into it more fully (and I will be) but I think that, in response to a bug during beta-testing about possessed familiars being able to find the hole, I put in a check to make sure that only PCs could get the conversation. The only problem is, it looks like I accidentally got the logic reversed and now only familiars get it. Grrr. My apologies,

    Kingmaker-Grain in cave
Yes, there are some issues with this quest and we're looking into ways to address them.

    Kingmaker never proceeds beyond intro

Hello folks! Having a bit of a problem. Kingmaker logs into server, and when trying to create a new character, the game allows me to generate the character. BUT ... when the module "starts" I get a beautiful view of 4 characters standing in the rain. No mouse or keyboard interaction other than windows button (takes me out) seems to make any difference. Game just freezes. I tried moving all characters from localvault, but no change. Have CEP and PRC loaded, but have not altered these modules. ShadowGuard ran fine (although awfully short play time). Running Win XP Pro., lots of memory. Suggestions???
A couple of standard suggestions. Forgive me if you've already tried them.

1 - Make sure you've patched to the current (i.e. non-beta) version of NWN (1.64.8062).

2 - Make sure there's nothing in your override folder.

If you're still having trouble once you've addressed those two points, use the workaround that Jason posted above. Once you're able to run around in the area, hit the "." key to bring up the DM Chooser panel. In the area list, select the 'Battle at the Gates' area and hit the 'Go To' button along the top. This will jump you to the next area where another cutscene will begin. Hopefully that one will work better for you and you'll be able to proceed.

Best of luck and sorry to hear that you're experiencing this issue.

Kingmaker bug - cannot finish quest

The premium modules have been out less than a week. Give them a little time and I'm sure a patch will be forthcoming. They'll probably want to catch as many bugs/problems as possible with a single sweep, so it may be a little while.
Yes, none of the issues have proven serious enough to warrant an emergency, single-issue patch. Instead, we're taking the time to make sure we have a clear understanding of the various problems people are having before we proceed. Also be aware that any patch will have to undergo further testing and approvals, both here at BioWare and with our publisher, Atari. We are working on addressing these issues but we want to make sure we do a thorough job of it.

    Small Save bug
Thanks for catching that one, Zakka, and for the really clear steps to reproduce it. I sent it off to our patch programmer, Craig, and he just sent me a response letting me know that it's fixed for the upcoming 1.65 patch.

    Only english??
The game has been localized into a large number of languages, actually.

    Neverwinter Nights: Kingmaker
Thanks for the review, Lady Shayna. Always great to hear feedback and I don't mind a large review at all. PS. All complaints about cows, chickens and kobolds should be sent to the whimsical Dan, who has been beaten down to a whimpering, huddled mess. :p

    Chaotic Kingmaker? (minor spoilers)
Actually, it was originally going to be possible to do this, but the amount of writing needed for that, plus the additional complexity to the scripting (which was already crazy), led to that part being cut. A chaotic person could run a keep; it would simply be a more anarchist structure, with the guildmasters likely having more power.

More: I think you misunderstood what I meant. Originally the plan was to make it possible to run yourself, or support both. When I cut that there were simply no dialogue choices to support the other candidates. Hmm, I had a whole diatribe here explaining how the sword's forcing you came about, but it gave away too much about my plans for the sequel. You're just going to have to accept (or not) that there is a legitimate reason for you to be the Lord/Lady. If you didn't gain the throne, you weren't doing what the weapon needed, so why should it keep you alive?
Hopefully as you explore and learn more about yourself and your weapon and the Keep, this will become clearer. (And if not, then the sequel will, if there is a sequel (cross-fingers).
