    Linux purchasers survey!
As an interesting side note, we have heard from several Linux customers that they have used a friend's Windows to get the premium modules extracted and are successfully playing them. Your milage may vary...

    Corrupt file on download?
Just a few more things to try... if the download is still corrupt after several downloads, it may be because your computer has cached the download.

    1. Make sure you have deleted the installers from your system before you attempt to download them again.

    2. Try downloading them to a different location than before.

If that doesn't help, please post the file sizes of each of the files you downloaded, and an estimate of how long it takes you to download each of them.

    Neverwintervault downloads cost?

Will neverinter vault downloads now cost also?
Why should it? There is a misconception that the introduction of premium modules will cause free content to disappear. It will not.

Turning away customers is bad business.

For the record, I never said it wasn't safe, and I thought I thoroughly explained that in my initial post... My point was, try explaining that it's safe to use a credit card online to your 52 year old aunt, who's only knowledge of online transactions comes from the news. I'm aware that a Visa checking card or something similar would work, but even though I've had a checking account with my bank for over a year I'm still being denied one. And no, I haven't written any bad checks or anything like that. There are plenty of options open to Bioware at this point. After thinking over it long and hard though, I think the best option would be to sell download codes through major software retailers. This doesn't need to be anything more than a small piece of paper, though they'd probably make it a plastic card for some reason... Then they don't need to worry about having to deal with other forms of payment. And we could walk into a store, pay CASH, and have the added benefit of the government not being in my business.
You see, selling download through a retailer means that the retailer will want to be reimburst for their troubles, plus they want a part of the profit. The reason why we can sell these modules at such a competitive price is because there is not a lot of overhead in shipping, handling, management, etc. Adding a retailer will add between 20-40% to the cost of a full price game, you can calculate yourself that the module probably wouldn't sell too well at the resulting total price (unless you bundle like 5-10 of them in a box - which is something we may investigate in cooperation with our publisher to a later point)

Sure, we could send CDs or module cards, or whater to retailers, but at this point, the reason why we can do this experiment is because it is a controlled risk/cost environment that allows us to give the market the modules at the price point we determined to be right. At times it is a better business decision to cater to a segment of the market with controlled risk rather than going for the full market with a lot of expenses - especially if you are venturing into really untested waters, it's not like stuff like this has been done a lot of times already.

    Premium modules too short?
Rob already stated multiple times that WW is planned as a multi part series, yes.

    Witch's Wake subrace script
Since you can not open the premium modules in the toolset (a fact that has been extensivly discussed and is, among other places, displayed in the FAQ on top of this forum), you are not able to see the script. I'm sure Rob wouldn't mind to post the script, but to my knowledge he is using a variation (he's not using the itemproperty functionality of it, just the template functionality) of the subrace script I posted as tutorial on these boards after HotU was released:

Click Here If you don't feel like copy & pasting and creating 2da files, you can also download a more advanced and ready-to-import-in-your-module version of my subrace & deity scripts from my webpage here: http://gulbsoft.de/phpBB2x/g_viewcat.php?p=5807

    enjoy

    Authentication offline possible ?

My request is merely this: Bioware, please tell me other options are being explored.
Derek French posted this a couple of times already, yes, if the online store is a success, we are happy to investigate other copy protection technologies as well. At this time, it's cost prohibitive. And, man, make sure to get some sleep during your federally enforced downtime as well :) , I don't think I'd like the idea of newspaper headlines like "RPG makes tired trucker drive over granny" or so :p

    Nathrock's Unofficial FAQ
They are both intended to be chapters in a longer saga, which will be continued, if they sell well (hopefully). Yes, you will have to pay for them. I can't speak for Altaris, but the man hours needed to get Kingmaker out were huge. There is literally a novel's worth of dialogue and all of that had to be scripted and qa'd, etc. The VO is also pretty expensive. Hope that explains why we need to charge for each part.
