13 March 2006 - New BioWare Austin Studio
Well E3 starts next week (Monday through Friday). We have already confirmed that we are showing a Demo of Mass Effect at our booth. As to whatever else we may or may not talke about.... well... you'll just have to wait for E3. :)

More: I didn't say that. I said we are showing a Demo of Mass Effect at E3 (for more Mass Effect info, please go here: http://masseffect.bioware.com/ ).

I did hint that we might be showing, doing, announcing, hinting or somethinging something else at E3, but I never said what it might be. Maybe it's MMO related, maybe it's not. You'll just need to stay tuned and see. :)

    Patch 1.67 FAQ

I did a clean install of NWN last night, right off the NWN Diamond DVD. Everything installed fine. I ran the update and tried to patch and it gives me this...snip...
Yes, you need to use the 1.67 CR to update to 1.67.

The normal patches use RTP, which only stores the changes between files of different versions. Therefore they only work on an exact, unchanged version of a file.

The critical rebuild has the full files instead of just the changes, therefore it works on all versions of the game

There is a problem with the 1.66 Diamond DVD that some files were changed (without BioWares approval) from what they were supposed to be, causing the auto updater to fail. A patch (in fact the 1.66 critical rebuild) is on the DVD and will fix this when run so you can use the auto updater to go to 1.67. Running the 1.67 CR will also fix it and apply patch 1.67 in one step.

Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused, it was not in our hands and whoever messed with those files hopefull has learned a valuable lesson from this.

    having script lesson problem
    Shot in the dark...

One thing to watch for is to avoid using OBJECT_SELF directly in delayed actions

it's always smart to do a

    object oSelf = OBJECT_SELF;

at the start of a script and use oSelf from there on.

Also, if the script is using ClearAllActions() somewhere, try changing it to ClearAllActions(TRUE), which would terminate combat mode if engaged.

    03 May 2006 - 1.67 Update Script Articles & Demo Module

I liked the new home. :) I bet there will be some of those in future modules! Hmm... a sleezy character sells you the deed to a property out in the forest for a princely sum... and it turns out to be a run-down old shack! :evillol:

There seems to be something about a parrot and digging for treasure in the scripts, but I couldn't see any of that in the module?

    Cheers! :)
Yea, I started on that but didn't have time to finish it, so I disabled it - never made it fully into the module. Maybe at some point in the future.
