Here are today's Neverwinter Nights forum highlights, collected by NWVault. Please take into account that these are only single parts of various threads and should not be taken out of context. Bear in mind also that the posts presented here are copied as-is, and that any bad spelling and grammar does not get corrected on our end.

    So now what?
If you're interesting in playing scheduled, DM'ed sessions, you can try Neverwinter Connections. :)

    BioWare Downtime

its just hard to believe that a company stocked full of techno-geeks and with millions of dollars plus ataris billions doesnt have a back up server. thats rediculous even alot of the player made servers have a back up server, some of them have even more than one
It's not all that difficult to introduce a situation in which backup servers are of no use. ;)

Competition isn't something to be feared, anyways; it is something to be encouraged. A more competitive market ensures that we'll keep on our toes, and the result will be better games than if there was nobody else sharing the space. :)

    assembling an item
One way to do it would be to give each of the items the "Unique Power Self Only" ability. You could a tie a script to each of the objects so that, when the "power" is used, it will check and see if the PC is in possession of all three pieces. If they are, you remove the three parts and give the PC the completed idol item instead. :) A method like that would also let you involve a skill check or something similar to put it back together, if you wanted.

More: If you keep the work cleanly organized, you shouldn't even actually require two installations. I overhauled Neverwinter for future tech in my spare time once, with only one installation. You just have to keep it all in order. :) Remember, if you have questions, feel free to ask them. There's the scripting forum for programming oriented questions, or this forum for toolset questions. If you're really not sure where to ask something, try it in the NWN General Discussion forum. Odds are, somebody can direct you to the right place. Happy building!
