SetName() & 43 other new commands in patch 1.67
Can't really give you a date for Beta 1 right now. This month is as solid of an estimate that I can make at this time.

An idea that might get Witch's Wake II off the ground....
Actually, that's not a bad idea. The official contest bit may prove troublesome but, on a purely unofficial basis, I'd love to have the community pick up the WW series where I left off. While I won't divulge the specifics of where the storyline was going to lead, I will say this much:

WW2 was going to be a flashback to the King's camp at the culmination of a long but victorious war of conquest. A terrible event occurs, leading to the creation of the Witch Hunters under Prince Ahmed's command and their subsequent departure to the distant lands where the player discovers themselves in WW1.

So, with that in mind, who would like to take up the challenge? With the community's help, I'll gladly pick my favorites when all is said and done. As for an arbitrary due date, how about my birthday, June 6th. :)

    Any plans for a 1.67?
Sorry no horses in the 1.67 update.

Also no changes to Trolls. :(

As indicated there will be a LOT of new scripting functionality.

I believe we are up to around 44 new scripting commands, some of which are rather specialized while others the community has wanted for a rather long time.

Seven other scripting commands have had additional parameters added to them to expand their functionality, while a few others have been expanded to work on object types that they did not work with before.

So there should be a lot of nifty new things you'll be able to do once the new update becomes available.

    More:
Wow, that's great, Craig. Thanks! While I (hopefully) have your ear, do you know if these new commands will be included in NWN2 as well?
I don't know if they will be or not. We do give code updates to Obsidian, but someone from Obsidian would be in a better position to answer this question than my self. You could try reposting your question on the NWN2 forums.

    More:
Very nice news.. any details on what scripting commands those are?

[ can we hope for SetGPValue and extension to EffectMovementSpeedIncrease with avues bigger than 100% :) ]
SetGPValue = No and EffectMovementSpeedIncrease = No.

One scripting command that we weren't initially planning on adding, but was a last minute addition is the new SetName() scripting command (I know I said it wasn't going to be in the update before and at the time I made that statement that was the case, but things changed). The new SetName() scripting command will work on NPC creatures, placeables, items and doors. And there was much rejoicing. :)

You mean I'll be able to take my "Longsword+2" that was updated in HOTU to become a Longsword+10 with 2d6 Acid, Haste, etc. . .and actually change its name to something OTHER than "Longsword+2"? Like maybe "Munchkin Longsword of Uberness?" Much rejoicing indeed! :)
    Yes.

So many titles, this is confusing
This is how epidemics start. One person infects another, that person infects another, and eventually we're all playing NWN on this dude's server! If only chicken pox was this awesome!

Thread Stickied due to l33t uber-awesome-tacularity.
