Here are today's Neverwinter Nights forum highlights, collected by NWVault. Please take into account that these are only single parts of various threads and should not be taken out of context. Bear in mind also that the posts presented here are copied as-is, and that any bad spelling and grammar does not get corrected on our end.

    Update only to 1.66?
1.66 is the current stable patch for NWN.

Patch 1.67 is in beta right now and while we like people to try it out and give us feedback (a lot!), it is not recommended to use the beta if you just want to play the game, especially online.

There will be one more beta for 1.67 before it is relased officially, and once that happes you will hear about it on our website and it will also be available through the auto updater.

    1.68 Function Suggestions

Fix the >>> operator so it does zero fill as it should when the sign bit is set -- currently >> and >>> do exactly the same thing. I reported this a few patches ago but it never got done.
And there might be scripts out there that rely on them to do the same thing now. Given the thousands of modules created so far, that is actually quite likely - making it prohibitive to do this kind of a change at this point in time.

This might have been an option around patch 1.27 or so, it is not an option anymore.

Very large module corrupting with importing of erfs (server memory corrupts then crashes) repeatable
This is not a server issue, this is more an issue with the module pushing the many game systems way beyond the scope they were originally designed to handle.

Factions play a huge role here - at this module size you better use tons of custom factions to prevent the game from having to update faction relationships on several hundred cratures on every faction rating altering event.

As for TMIs, they generally happen if you have a scripted system that does not scale well (i.e. it iterates over all objects in an area, all members of a faction, where the number of objects is only partially under your control).

I would split this into multiple modules (4 perhaps)and run it on several server instances, this is really much larger than any module should be. Moving some resources out of the module into a hakpak will make your toolset experience much smoother, but will probably not fix any of your in game issues.

    What course would i need....

Different people, different standards, different likes and dislikes, different levels of objectivism, different day, different brand of coffee, different colour of socks. Any number of things can determine how a person feels about a module. Heck, I feel different things about Will Ferrell, depending on my mood, how much sleep I've had, what I've been drinking that day, the movie I see, the number of times I've seen that movie, what role he's playing, even the people with whom I'm watching the movie is a factor.

So don't be too hard on your reviewers. Maybe some impotent railing at the heavens, or a drop to the knees while wailing "Noooooooooooo!" would suffice?
