Here are today's Neverwinter Nights forum highlights, collected by NWVault. Please take into account that these are only single parts of various threads and should not be taken out of context. Bear in mind also that the posts presented here are copied as-is, and that any bad spelling and grammar does not get corrected on our end. Thanks to David for the heads up as well.

Mac NWN 1.67 Patch Instructions Errata
We have stealth-fixed the documentation on the Mac patches now. All new downloads will get the right patch note files. Sorry about the hassle folks.

    Wizard & Palemaster Spellslots bugged?
Well said. The PRC is well worth downloading, not just for this. Just remember to get the 1.67 compatible version :)

    More:
I was always under the impression that the reason the 2 caster Prcs (RDD and PM) didn't count towards caster level for spells was simply because it made those classes overpowered in the NWN world. Specifically in the first two official campaigns, don't want to break those with a new prestige class.

At least I seem to think I remember something like this being said by some sort of official Bioware type...
    *Looks in Georg Zoellers direction.*
As said before, they were balanced within their implementation - which is one of the reasons why we wouldn't change them at this point, it would mean rebalancing the HotU campaign.

Patch 1.67 is broken on Linux (fix now available)
Found the problem, fixed the problem, making new files now
(there will be a small fix for those who have already downloaded the full files).

Also, just a note, if you are running english, there should never be a dialogf.tlk (f for female) in your install dir.. In the xp1 and xp2 patch streams for linux, some french dialogf managed to find it's way in (bad script!). This is fixed in the new files, but if you have it kicking around... well, either enjoy playing a female character in french, or simply delete the file (cd to install dir, "rm -f dialogf.tlk")

Sorry for the problems... between being sick and loosing some scripts to make the linux builds, things are a bit crazy.

    Owen.

More: If you've downloaded any of the patches for linux 1.67 and you have a problem with SOU (or any NPC's not spawning), there was an error in the build of the final patches that resulted in a .o file being wrong, which caused problems. This has been fixed, and the patches have been updated. For those who have already downloaded the 1.67 patch, there is a "small" update available to fix the affected files at http://files.bioware.com/neverwinternights/updates/linux/167/linuxclient167fix.tar.gz

If you have the English XP1 or XP2 patch, you should also remove the dialogf.tlk file as it does not belong there either. Sorry for the confusion.

    patch 2da update annoyance..

can anyone tell me why this is happening, and more importantly what to do about it. I've got a hak with placables in my mod, all set up ok under 1.66, yesterday I extracted the placables 2da from 1.67, added my placables lines to the end (no incompatibility- mine started at 600) and put a new hak, containing that and a few other 2das above my other haks in the custom content window. All just as i've done before- BUT... on openning the mod, all the standard placables are there+ all the 1.67 placables but all my custom ones are blank spaces- every custom placable in an area and every blueprint has a blanks space in the "appearance" window of the placable properties box- even though their number position in the 2da is the same as it was before .
Anyone got any indeas on this?
It might be due to the new STATIC column in the placeables.2da, you'll have to update your merged 2da to reflect the new change.

    Question for Devs.

My question is will there be any Official Persistant Worlds sold?
    Nope.

26 Apr 2006 - Free Content In New Neverwinter Nights 1.67 Update

I have the Diamond edition, but I can't update to 1.67. It says "incompatible file" or something to that extend. Can anyone help?
Its possible that one of your files are not what the updater is expecting.
I believe the best thing to do would be to run the critcal rebuild patch that is on the Diamond Edition DVD (called something along the lines of NWNEnglish1.66HotUUpdate.exe.
After doing that trying running the updater again and it "should" be able to patch.

If that doesn't work you can also download the 1.67 critical rebuild and run that. You can find it here:

    Hope that helps,
    Craig.

    master server down
Well that's strange, I thought we'd solved our bandwidth issues which we believed would allieviate the problem.

The master server is definitely up and running.
There is also a large number of people playing online at the moment that aren't having any difficulty connecting to the master server.
I've also managed to connect with no problems from either work or home. So this is by no means an issue that affects everyone.

We'll keep looking into the issue and see if we can determine what the problem might be.

Is there any common factors between the people that are exhibiting this problem? Hardware/Firewalls/Operating System/etc? Is this only affecting Avlis players running the 1.66 version of the game?

By the way, I wasn't trying to lay any blame. I was attempting to offer a suggestion that may have possibly helped some people that were encountering this issue.
