Here are today's Neverwinter Nights 2 forum highlights, collected by NWVault from Obsidian Forums. Modules to get Hired
I think if you have made some noteworthy mods it certainly can help breaking into the industry. The main thing is you have to have something which makes your resume stick out from the rest of the pack. Practically every entry level game developer position gets mobbed with the responses, so the competition can be fierce.

    NWCon 2.5
I'd certainly like to make it, barring act of schedule or OT I'll be there. Dunno whether I'll lurk or reveal my secret identity. Maybe I'll just wear some glasses and no one will have any idea who I am.

    Modules to get Hired
I got my first job in the industry based on doing Quake 2/3 mods. I was programming some pretty crazy stuff all by my lonesome, and it helped show the 'dedication and creativity' thing to my first employers. We had some lenghty discussions in the developer forums a few months back about this stuff.

Make the commitment to getting into the industry your 'second shift' job and it will pay off with a LOT of persistence. I spent about 6 - 8 hours a day writing mod code for 8 months--so expect to have to give up some of your time to the process. I got more rejections than I care to mention, but I also understand the hiring process a LOT better now. It surprises me how many people DON'T do mod work anymore.

I can assure you of one thing, you won't get into the industry if you have nothing to show.

NWN2 demo recording and camera controls?
cutscene content creation is on the table. We'll most likely be providing the end user some more visual elements for constructing cutscenes.
