    Question About Backwards Compatability
I'm not sure how to answer the question without starting a calvacade (I think that's a word) of responses, but I'll try. We are thinking about how to make it possible to import NWN1 community/user made content into NWN2 at pretty much every turn. I think it is going to be possible to import a great deal of the content, but probably not all. I'm just being realistic here. My hope is that the amount of stuff that we will be able to import will then make it possible for modules to be touched up by the people who built them fairly quickly.

More: I'm not trying to be vague here, it's just a hard question to answer specifically right now since we have only been working on the project a short time.
The graphics will not be what will be easily imported into NWN2. To use an example from creatures. The look of each creature is represented by an ID in Appearances.2DA. We will make our own Appearances.2DA with all new creatures in it - ones that have all been made for NWN2. To make it possible to import creature files (data - not art) into the NWN2 toolset so that they have a model, there will probably be another 2DA that maps each of the old NWN1 creature appearances to their NWN2 analogs. In some cases there will be an analog, in some cases there won't be and we will just pick something close.

More: All of that was sort off the cuff as it is still stuff we are figuring out how to do. I think at this point, I just have to say "I don't know."

Axe the henchmen, go with full party members
For the people that don't like henchman (only post-HotU, BioWare made a lot of improvements with them in that expansion) - what changes could be made that would make them bearable if not cool? Constuctive feedback would be appreciated.

    Eliminate Discipline
Staying true to 3rd edition rules certainly is a valid argument. But I am curious if you folks have any other reasons why you don't like Discipline and Parry? If you had never read DnD rules, would you still have issues with them? Does anybody like them?

    Some requests about OC dialog...
We definitely plan on avoiding contemporary terminology. It irritates me, too, when I see it in a fantasy game. Although with the volume of dialogue we're writing, it wouldn't surprise me if we slip on occasion.

what hardware will be required.or still too early?
The hardware requirements will be reasonable to expect for 2006. What exactly that winds up being is TBD, though you should expect it to require a DX9 card.
