Here are today's Neverwinter Nights 2 forum highlights, collected by NWVault from Obsidian Forums. Please take into account that these are only single parts of various threads and should not be taken out of context. Bear in mind also that the posts presented here are copied as-is, and that any bad spelling and grammar does not get corrected on our end.

    FrankK, Programmer

    Reskin Tilesets

While this would work if you played NWN2 with vertex lighting (lowest graphical option for lighting), a majority of gamers will likely use the graphical setting that uses normal maps for lighting. That said, altering the diffuse textures on the fly like you described would probably not look so good when the normal map is applied.
We've got some tech going internally which will work with the normal maps but still allow a great deal of customization on a per-tile basis.

    Conversations
The in-game or 'playback' conversation system has been scrapped. Erik has rewritten that from the ground up using new tech and it looks pretty damn good. He's modified the toolset to take advantage of all the neat stuff he's added in the engine as well.

    Ferret, Developer

    GUI
Thanks for all the feedback. Many things you've mentioned were already on my list to beg Frank for (poor orphan Ferret whines, "Please Frank, more features"). If this thread is any indication it seems that there is quite a division on whether radial menus are good or not so good. We're still in the design phase for the new GUI, so if anybody has some more dynamite suggestions now is probably the best time to voice them.
