Here are today's Neverwinter Nights 2 forum highlights, collected by NWVault. Please take into account that these are only single parts of various threads and should not be taken out of context. Bear in mind also that the posts presented here are copied as-is, and that any bad spelling and grammar does not get corrected on our end.

Normal mapping and characters (pic included)
You are able to control the specular contribution to the lighting through a specular map. This means you can pretty much pick and choose what stuff on a object you want to be shiny.

    Weather Effects
Yes, we will have weather effects. Brian is currently working on many sweet environmental effects and has been for some time. It's looking really good!

    Brian D. Lawson, Programmer

    Animated textures?
Currently there are no plans for general wide-spread use of animated textures across all things "placeable". However, we will have support for animated textures which will more than likely be used for more specific items/situations.

    Frank Kowalkowski, Lead Programmer

    Placeables
Buildings as placeables? That's just crazy talk...but perhaps too crazy it just might work...we'll check the Magic 8-Ball and get back to you.

    Weather Effects
The day/night/sky stuff will make many a poster a happy panda. Remember that. Happy pandas.
