(quote)Posted 07/16/05 17:59:57 (GMT) by CergorachThe 'year' he stated he was refering to the 'full production' mode. They acually were working on the re-writing the FX engine and such for 12 months before that.
Actually, I started July 7th last year. ;) The full rendering engine rewrite didn't commence until somewhere around September/October. Full production started somewhere around February of this year. [IMG]However, this is all really beside the point. While I feel that we've done a great job with what we had to start with...I also feel that "most" people will be really pleased with what they see when screen shots etc are finally able to make their way out.Just take a stroll over to the toolset forum and look at the excitement that's building over there. If you ask me, there's another perfect example of a complete rewrite gone "right". Erik ad Adam have been kicking major butt on the toolset. It's so easy to mess around with and get sucked into. I find myself walking past designer's machines and saying "wow...is that our game?"

The machine on which they are doing most of the coding during the first half of the development cycle. :) So...What kind of machines are you guys using to work on?Carl
Disclaimer: These are NOT minimum spcs. ;)I code primarily on a P4 3.0GHz w/1GB ram and a NVidia 6800GT.I also test to ensure multi-vendor compatability and do some coding on a P4 2.8GHz w/1GB ram and an ATI 9800Pro.
