Here are today's Neverwinter Nights 2 forum highlights, collected by NWVault. Please take into account that these are only single parts of various threads and should not be taken out of context. Volumetric effects

I believe he was stating all of the current scene image renderings are all done on the GPU at the same time.
and... Thats what the GPU is made for and is what it does best. Anyway should we take the answers as given here will NWN2 then reuse the volumetric effects of NWN? And not even use the options of DX9.0c?
Actually, since you seem to think you know better than us, I guess it really doesn't matter what I say. For most on these forums, they leave the decisions up to us, the experts and trust that we'll make the right ones in the end.Yes, a GPU is made for fast vector processing which lends itself nicely to realtime 3D graphics. But even a GPU can be over burdened when throwing too much at it.And no, the replies here do NOT mean that NWN2 will be using the same effects as the original NWN1. That would be impossible since the rendering engine has been completely re-written. Oh wait, you didn't know that? [IMG]

    Windowed Mode?

Not to mention those of us that like to have the server, client, and toolset running at the same time...
You'll probably need a fairly potent/capable video card to run the client and the toolset at the same time. If the levels are small it probably wouldn't be too much of a problem, but larger levels will almost certainly be competing for resources. The easy solution is to just buy a video card with 512mb - 1gb of ram.

    The looks!

My question I still have is how many different types of terrain can you paint? Will you be able to paint snow covered terrain? Or how about deserts? If those were in I would be quite happy.
    Yes, yes, and ...yes. :)

    More:
does that mean we can blend painted terrains? Like the edge of a forest receeding from the deserts edge? or a light snowy ground melding into a rocky terrain? (fingers crossed)
    Magic 8 ball says...yes.
