Here are today's Neverwinter Nights 2 forum highlights, collected by NWVault. Please take into account that these are only single parts of various threads and should not be taken out of context. Bear in mind also that the posts presented here are copied as-is, and that any bad spelling and grammar does not get corrected on our end.

    Atari Stock In trouble
For further Atari financial discussions, at the very least, please use the other thread. Thanks.

    NWN2 teaser trailer

Whatever...no one is going to care. People are just too paranoid about copyrights these days.

If you don't want to, then don't ask.

Obsidian isn't going to comment because they don't control the legalities.

Atari isn't going to comment because they aren’t going to pay a lawyer to review a 2 minute trailer to see if you defamed the company in some way.

That's exactly true. And furthermore, this is another one of those "it wasn't even supposed to be released anyway" things...just like the original Dragonshard back cover art that at the time was ancient. Just like that, this time this video is ancient.

While I'm glad to see most people are excited by it and like it, frankly, it's quite dated and only in some parts even comes close to representing the game as it exists today. ;)

    Learning new spells
We plan to follow the rules on this (except for the specialist caveat for spell selection), just like NWN1 did, so that means a wizard learns 2 spells per level without having to find scrolls. We batted some ideas around at one point like this but ultimately decided that "themz the rules". Those two spells are important to make the wizard a valuable party member - especially on odd levels.

Oh yes, it's good the omnipresent copyright paranoia is being noticed.
