Here are today's Neverwinter Nights 2 forum highlights, collected by NWVault from Obsidian Forums. Please take into account that these are only single parts of various threads and should not be taken out of context. Bear in mind also that the posts presented here are copied as-is, and that any bad spelling and grammar does not get corrected on our end.

    Synthesized Speech!
Synthesized voice is nowhere near the point where it could replace human actors. That being said, it's very convenient to use as a placeholder for voice until the real VO is put in.

    Synthesized Speech!

Now that you've let that cat out of the bag. How about implementing synthesized voice in the module editor portion of NWN2 -- since you already have it in NWN2 -- just leave it in (I know it would take a bit more effort than that -- but, you get the idea). Granted it would be crude relative to VO -- but, it could be better than no voice at all for some of us. And, you will have the jump on the competition in its use
Talk about taking a quote and running away with it. I was specifically talking about my experiences on earlier games I've worked on. We haven't done anything related to this for NWN2 so far.

    Improving Conversations
I really enjoyed Ultima IV (its one of my favorite games ever), and the dialogue system was entertaining when I was playing it years ago. But I don't know if today's gamers would have the patience for a system like that. The current dialogue paradigm is far more efficient than Ultima IV. I remember entering dozens of words hoping for a response in U4, and I just don't have that much spare time these days. Interesting discussion, though.

A little humor would not hurt...
Comedy has its time and place, and expect some of it in NWN2. Hopefully it'll be enough to make our players at least crack a smile, perhaps even on occasion bust a gut. Whose gut is busted and in what manner, I leave to the audience's discretion.

    Concerning viewpoints
There will be no first-person. We have some pretty good reasons not to do first-person that will become apparent over time.
